Thanks for getting those pictures up so quickly Rachel!!! It was great to see you and the rest of crew. Have a nice day off tomorrow, all of you have earned it! Hey guys - I did take some photos and posted them to my personal flickr account: www.flickr.com//photos/rnkoeppel/sets/72157627474028041/show/They are probably not exactly what you guys are looking for in terms of gear/people, but I tried As Vince said, though, I think he and Kevin got a lot of good pics, as well as the professional photographer (Shannon Fontaine) - I'll have his photos posted as soon as I get a hold of them! It truly was an awesome weekend, and a really great Emofest despite the rain on Sunday! Thank you to those that came out and sorry to those who missed it! No problem Figured I would just do a straight upload from the camera without any editing so you guys could see them faster. It was great seeing you too, and I will definitely enjoy the day off tomorrow!

Feature wise, I don't want too much above my UMC-1. An improved EmoQ or similar. Conventional bass management. Fully balanced stereo input. Fully balanced stereo output. (I will buy 2 XPA-1's) Untouched video pass through. Improved SQ. All things good from the UMC-1. The first point is still unanswered, the others have been confirmed. Dave. Has the "Conventional bass management" been confirmed - haven't seen anything about that one - although it will be very good news.

Stiehl11, LC Seminole, Hemster, Geebo, Kramerkid. Are you reading this ? Reply #497 needs your response!
Here I go:
This is a given that it will be improved.
I'm calling Markus right now!
I'm afraid of the adjective "fully"
Ditto!
Most definitely. Clearly stated in the 08/02/11 podcast.
Very subjective. But, based on the promise of a turbo charged analog out. ......Yes!
All things improved from the UMC-1....... You owe me smiley!
Don't worry. No one has ever used everything available on one entity. I'm still working on my wife of 28 years! We have a family & friends barbeque yesterday (I thought that it was supposed to be Saturday) at Ft. Lauderdale Beach. I found out that my wife liked swim with her purse. I was the one drinking Barbados Coconut Rum. She does not drink alcohol. Go freaking figure?

Perhaps its femininity but I feel no need to go below 20Hz and just want realistic effects at moderate volume with no audible distortion, ie. want the amp to be loafing along. I get that in spades with my current set up. Having 8cf subs is not my style. Having seen the photos of your stuff I beg to differ young lady. ;D ;D Your woofer is bigger than the tires on my Tundra.

sometimes we men just get carried away with our toys Much depends on your tostesterone level. Low level tostesterone level removes all things 'bullish' from your desires. There is nothing in audio more bullish than bass & power. ;D ;D

Rachel, Thank you for posting all the photos. Looking at all the food I wonder if Emotiva should make one of the Emofest prizes a free membership in Weight Watchers? ;D Cheers, Deral Newport, OR PS: How about throwing a "second" Emofest on the west coast for those of us who can't afford to travel to Franklin?

It looks like a dead LED on channel 5's bar graph too. No, it's not dead. The metering is in peak hold mode!

I think your joking but just in case your not, it is actually part of the peak hold function. The bar graph will peak to whatever level and hold the highest point for a couple of seconds as the rest of the meter continues to move. So its not a dead LED, just the peak for that channel at that time. ;D

I just want to chime in and reply a couple of thoughs I had. I really want to say it was great seeing some old friends again and meeting so many new people. To everyone who attended Emofest, THANK YOU for making it such a great event. For those that couldn't make, I am sorry we didn't get a chance to meet, but there is always next year and hope you can come. It is you our cuustomers and supporters that make it possible for us to do what we do. We do what we do because of a love of the gear, movies and music, but it is your support and feedback that tell us which direction to go in and I thank you for it. As you can see from the pics, our immediate Emo family has grown quite a bit as has our extended family (YOU), but no matter how much we grow, it will always be because of you. So thanks again for all your support and looking forward to seeing you all next year.

PS: How about throwing a "second" Emofest on the west coast for those of us who can't afford to travel to Franklin? My sentiments exactly! I would have loved to attend Emofest. I think it is absolutely wonderful that a company would go to such great lengths to put on an event like that for its customers. Obviously a lot of people bought something but it wasn't like one of those timeshare presentations that promise you a free show or other thing but pressure you like crazy to buy something. This was more about showing appreciation for customers and I am very pleased to own Emo gear (even if I couldn't attend Emofest).

The response should been: Thanks for the explanation. I'm sorry I did not ask for an explanation of my observation when I first noticed it. The CEO and Chief Engineer have responded. Do you have a response for them?

Whats the difference between the UMC-1 and the UMC-2 besides the new face plate?? Does the UMC-2 have two HDMI outputs or no?? The UMC-2 concept that we showed is a fully working 1.4 platform. It is a new design from the ground up. Everything in it is a whole new design. The decoder is using CS new 497024 and the HDMI uses the AD7623. To show you how much things have changed over the last couple of years. The UMC-1 had about a dozed PCBs where this has all of 4. Very tightly integrated and really a slick design. Now whether or not this will be released has not yet been determined. We are using it to work out all of the HDMI 1.4 issues, but the technology in this unit will definately be coming to a theatre near you very soon. ;D
