I must say the ultra sub 12 is a very good sub for $399 & free shipping. My old bic america 12 inch sub was ok but the amp failed 4 time in 6 yeears. So i bought the ultra 12 and i'am very happy with it. Nice tight bass & sound pressure levels that you can feel. Sounds great on music and movies. All i can says is if you are looking for a 12 inch sub. Buy 1 or 2 of these and have fun. Emotiva makes some very nice stuff at great savings.

Another new Ultra Sub 12 owner. Just got it hooked up to the Pioneer SC-07, along with a pair of Ascend Sierra-1 front spkrs - configured the SC-07 to 50hz crossover with Sierras set to small. I've got the Ultra's internal xover in bypass mode. So far I prefer the 50hz xover to 80hz xover.
Enjoy

I just wanted to chime in here. I received my Emotiva Ultra 12 Sub,last Thursday.
I have used it with a couple of movies and several different styles of music(Including SACD).
First and foremost,I am very impressed and happy at the outstanding build quality this sub has. From the Plate Amp Controls to the choice of feet.It is as well crafted as my Emotiva Amp(Which is a very well made component). And this is coming from someone who has had Parasound,Rotel, and Adcom Amps powering my systems, before Emotiva Moved In.
Emotiva's dedication to quality and detail is wonderous. And at the regular price of $600 including delivery fee,its a deal.At $359 with free shipping its a steal. It is very musical.Holding up to John Legend and Star Wars Soundtrack Tunes(Both on SACD).
Very Quick and tight. No Bloat or boominess at all.I expected an amp that was great for movies and acceptable for music. What I got was an amp that is Amazing at reproducing both Movies and Music.
So,I just want to say. That I know I made a wonderful move in getting the Ultra 12.And with the 5-Year Warranty.I am going to be enjoying it for many years to come. As other pieces of my systems may come and go,the Ultra 12 will not leave its Sub Riser.
It proves to me ,that Emotiva has what it takes to produce any component they set their mind, time, and muscle to.
I honestly could not have made a better choice at all.

I have been searching for someone who has owned an F12 or PA-120 for comparison purposes. The Bic and PA are of a similar class so how would you rate the Ultra 12 for someone coming from one of these speakers (albeit in good, working order.) I guess I am somewhat of a bass junky at times and love to see people's reaction when a good explosion goes off and they feel it in their chest. I have seriously contemplated adding 1 or 2 Ultra 12s to my system but am hoping to get some good feedback before making the purchase. My ERT-8.3s will be here in the morning so I want to see how they pair up with the PA-120 before I know for sure. Anyone else with any opinions of the Ultras would be great too...

HI, i'm useing the ULTRA 10 in a small room with the 6.2's.Just one 10 inch sub is blowing me away.Tight ,quick and punchy and yes, explosive.First off i think you will be very happy with the 8.3's, but if you add two ultra 12's with those, you better make the rest of the people on your block aware that it's not a real earthquake going on.More power to ya dude.

I have a good friend that owns a Pair of PA-120's.And the way he describes bass scenes in many Blu-Rays they are some powerful amps for the price. And would probably been the sub I chose(had I not read a review of the Ultra 10 on Blu-Ray dot com). All I can say is the Ultra 12 is much, much more then I expected. Its ability to reach the deep registers and move your internal organs is there. In fact,in my room I have to keep the sub output level at the 9 to 10 o'clock position(To be able to handle the sheer force it produces). I wish I had a PA-120 fo a true comparison. But I do know,I wont need another sub in my HT/Audio room. Not since I added the Ultra 12. Its a tremendous amount of sub for the money. And,from my view,Highly Recommended.I haven't found any area that it doesn't perform amazingly in. So,I can be pretty sure,if you add 1 or 2 Ultra 12's.It will fill that need for Bass you have. I think its been the best addition to my system in quite a while(and to me,that is saying alot). Enjoy the new Speakers. If they are built with the care the subs are.You have some incredible performers to ad to your system.
