Porscheguy
I think that no amount of reviews is going to give you more confidence in making your purchase of the U12 subs. Go ahead and get two of them and see if they have enough umph to fill your "cave". I suspect two just might be able to do it, but the only way to find out for sure is to try them. If they don''t do the job return them or buy one or two more to complete the job. I think you are going to be pleasantly surprised. Pull the trigger before the sale ends. ;D

Hey Krell, I hear you about the shirt. I don't remember anything about shirt size either, but sure enough, tailor fit! Nice shirt EMO, thanks! Well the shirt I got would have been a tailor fit, also. If I were Shaq. ;D

Hi Scott, Not sure what I will do with my Velo. Its a great sub, but it wasn't really designed for home theater. It's great for music but not much power for HT - maybe 150-175 real watts (thats according to an engineer at Velodyne). I have a very big room 7000 cu. ft. and I just don't get the spl I'd like. The guys at Velo agree and are the first to point out that the 1500R was never really designed with HT in mind. I've thought about picking up a second one and have been looking on Audiogon but I haven't found one yet..... The Emo's sound like a great deal, but they only play down to 22hz and as you know the 1500R goes to 18hz or even a tad lower - it just won't play loud..... So I'm not sure what I'm gonna do. I can't see replacing my 1500r's until they stop working. I have one in each front corner of the room and those things can make my house shake when they're really cranking. I bought them in 1994 mostly for music, but they do a fine job in home theater use as well with the pair of them. They are fantastic with music, which is my first love anyway.

My new Ultra 10 is good enough to scare the animals out of the living room, and made my mother-in-law look outside to see if there was thunder.

Not sure why internal volume is such a mystery when the dimensions are posted, back when I went to school we took lenthxwidthxheight to get volume. * You can't go by amp size alone, it also depends on how sensitive the driver is. A 300 watt sub using a 100dB sensitive driver will play louder than a 300 watt sub using a 90dB sensitive driver, just as an example. * A sealed sub such as the Ultra or Velodyne will require more amp power than a ported sub to reach the same perceived SPL in the same room. It may just be me but I feel a sealed box gives more of a physical feel to the music. Alanetta, do you have a problem with commitment On one hand you say the Ultra 12 is the best sub available hands down, must be nice to have heard all subs available, a real wealth of knowledge, but then you are willing to trade the best sub for the F15. Might just be me but I'm confused. Porsche, Dynaudio has some nice woodgrain subs, I believe even Oak or light Cherry. Be prepared their subs cost.

1. OK Krell, didn't expect to get smacked right off the bat. I was referring to price, though. Name me one sub that you have EVER heard that reproduces lows at volume better than the U12 for the price. I'm not here to get into pissing contests, just to give my honest opinions. I calls 'um like I sees 'um, or hears 'um in this regard. Take it for what it's worth. Been around a long time, don't care to argue. As for commitment, it's not about that. It's tough to trade the sweet thang you fell in love with back in the 80's for some cheep hooker a friend introduced you to last week. Sorry EMO...
2. How in the world do you guys link your posts to other posts? This is my first forum ever, so I'm slightly confused and can not figure it out. Please bear with me. HELP
About the shirts... They all must be XL which makes us old fat guys the lucky ones. Only appropriate. lol
Porsche, I might have confused the new SB line to be a replacement. If so glad to hear it. I just left their site and the pb's are still there and seem to be still available. I'm having a hard time with your note about the F1500 not playing loudly. I agree with strindl's post. I never experienced that either. I would think, that two of them would rock yhour world, even in your HUGE room. (No Krell, I have not been in his room.) Back to the PB12's. I stock a heap in specs and reviews. The PB is a kicker of a sub. I wish I knew if one SVS would really be better than two U12's. Or really if two U-12's would pacify me knowing that I compromised (cheap *bleep* syndrome). I guess that's the kind of dilema that makes us join forums? Wish somebody reputable would do some tests on the U12. I can under stand your decoration scheme problem, but if we are purists there is no room for that, right? Lucky you, SVS comes in oak. Go for it, wish I could! To bad the ADS sub sat sub isn't around anymore. lol I'd sure like to know about the line you had on the other 1500. It would solve my problem.
Good luck to all you truth seekers. ADH
