I've been waiting on the ERS-212's for a while now. I've been without a sub for 4 months and I'm missing the bass.
I've been reading a lot of reviews that recommend the dual sub approach.
I've been considering the DIY approach, Seaton SubMersive HP, or dual Epik Empires. Dual SubMersives would be amazing but out of my price range.
Any thoughts on dual Empires vs single SubMersive?

I've been looking at dual Epiks, EDs & EMOs. Just can't make up my mind. ED has free shipping, Epik doesn't...

Dual Ultra 12's have crossed my mind. Anyone have the scoop on the X series subs?

The submersive is a pretty amazing sub. I haven't heard the Empires but Mark Seaton is a sub guru. I would imagine your be golden either way you go.

If you are looking for a DIY sub, I would seriously consider the eD Dual 13Av.2 DIY kit. That's what I did, and I have no regrets. There are some threads here with the build and reviews of my sub. Here's a little taste............

^------ I heard this beast and man oh man it can move air.
The fight in the park scene from the newer Hulk movie with Edward Norton was unbelievable!
You should put it on your short list of subs.

Thanks JD. Would you believe there are a few guys on the eD forums twisting my arm to build a second one? Maybe when I finish the house, and move upstairs....

Do the benefits of running dual subs still apply if they are not identical?

Do the benefits of running dual subs still apply if they are not identical? It should. I know several people with nonidentical multiple sub systems and they seem to be happy.

There is a thread on AVS that compares the dual Empires to a single SubMersive. Thanks for the info. I read the thread. It was like looking for a needle in a haystack to finally get to the reviews thoughts.

I'll have to put a mention in for the Rythmik subs and kits.

Do the benefits of running dual subs still apply if they are not identical? Yes it does I have a ported sub = MFW-15 and a DIY 15" sealed sub I started out with my DIY sub then added the MFW years later and the benefit was huge

I'm still waiting on some information to come in but I'm leaning more and more towards a Maelstrom-X with dual 18" PRs powered by an F1200TS. Build it with the driver down firing and opposing PRs.
I'll see how this goes and maybe add a smaller sealed sub later into the mix.
