I just ordered the UPA-5 and cannot determine if rack ears are available. It would make putting it in my rack a lot easier. Any info would be helpful. thanks

Yes, Emotiva amps are rack mountable. Just contact them and let them know what you need. They even sent samples to one of the major rack vendors to allow them to make "custom" face plates that go with their racking system. If my memory is correct, Lonnie sent them every size chassis that was in production to allow them to design their Emotiva specific rack components. Plus, Emotiva makes their own "ears" for rack mounting their amps.
I have never used a rack system so I can't comment on what they look like or how easy they are to install, but there are Lounge Members who have used them. Hopefully, one of the owners will chime in and give you the scoop. ;D

There was a mention regarding rack ears in the VIP section of the lounge. I, for one, am VERY interested in racking my Emo gear as I absolutely love the look of racked up gear. When I first joined the lounge, one of the first questions I asked was if there were rack ears available for all Emo gear. I was told at that time they were not. I did read that they are now available and (I thought) were going to be put on the main page for sale. This never happened though, so it makes sense that there was a sizing error and the rack ears will come at a later date. If they do come, sign me up!!! ;D ;D ;D

An update. I sent Emotiva an email and asked if rack ears were available. They are and I just called them and ordered a pair for the upa-5. The cost was 49.95. I will post an update after they arrive.

I hope they are the redesigned ones, because if not, they won't fit a standard EIA rack.

Please let us know how the UPA-5 fits in the rack with those ears. I would much rather pay that price than the price for the Middle Atlantic custom shelf.

x2
Received my UPA-5 today, also want to rack mount and was about to buy the MA shelf but would much prefer ears from Emotiva as long as they are the correct sizing. Please post results!

It would be great if Emotiva produced complete racks to suit their products. Maybe a modular design so customers could build (assemble) the rack to suit their needs.
A rack mounted shelf would be good too for components like my Oppo and PVR.
Dave.

URE4 is the model for the amp rack ears and I received them yesterday and installed them today. They are not listed on the web site but can be had by calling customer service. They use the three screw holes on each side of the amp. The ears are pretty substantial and yes they do fit a standard rack. I am pleased. It was hard getting the amp into the rack and putting the screws in. I had to have help. The amp is very heavy.

Interesting, they must be the redesigned rack ears then. That is awesome, now I can rack my other emo amps on top of my mps1 ;D

So, could you put another rackmount item directly above the Emo, and they would line up flush (no space between them)? I believe that was the issue with the original ears, and want to be sure that was fixed before ordering...

Anyone know of were to find a wood shelf tower rack? I've been all over the internet and can't find anything that (1) has the depth for my newly purchased XPA-3 or my Pioneer SC-35, (2) or will hold the weight. (3) needs to have enough clearance per shelf, (10") Also will need at least five shelf's for the rest of my gear. I don't want glass. Maybe metal?

Do you mean for placing the equipment on the shelf (as opposed to rack mounting)? Try this place: www.studiotech.com I have their open shelf tower, and it has 11" spacing in between each shelf. Each one is strong enough to support an Emo amp (look at my profile for the equipment that is in the rack). They sell extra shelves separately, too.
