Have Magnat Quantum 557 front speakers 4 ohm and 340 watt max power and 180 watt rms and can drop as all speakers in ohm.
3.1 ohm in a test in average.
will use it to music and film and videogames on my playstation 3.

I read one person that have the XPA-3 and go for the UPA-1 monoblock and say that it was more power in the XPA-3 power amp so i will go for this.
it was a sale on this now also.....so this make it easier to.

I think the difference in performance between these two configurations is pretty small. Both use the same X series module. The UPA-1 has the advantage of an ungodly amount of secondary capacitance, but the XPA-3 shares the power of it's larger transformer between the 3 channels, so if an intense load is in one channel, the power goes to that channel. If you really believe you would bump against the limits of either of these amps, in absolute terms I would expect 3 UPA-1's to beat out one XPA-3. However with the XPA-3 at $529 shipped vs three UPA-1's at $1062 shipped, there is not much contest in my mind.
If you want to spend $1060 on amps, buy two XPA-3's and bi-amp your 3 front speakers. That will offer more power reserves than 3 UPA-1's!

I have both. The XPA-3 is a more aggressive amp, no question. It's mid-bass punch will rival that of the UPA-1. Of course this is in my setting, thru my speakers and my opinion......but the difference was obvious.
