Ok gang, as you have all probably guessed. I have received my XPA-1 amps. I will, however, reserve posting my thoughts on them for the moment, because (and maybe I am crazy) they seem to sound a little different every day... Not sure why...maybe break in? Who knows...anyway, I did call Lonnie and ask about hooking a source into the XLR and the RCA inputs at the same time and toggle back and forth between the two. Roadrunner is correct in that the switches aren't really designed for that type of use. Also, the inputs aren't totally isolated from each other and Lonnie warned that it could produce results that he is unable to predict. So, if anyone else was considering this, please be warned: It is a bad idea to hook a source into the XLR and the RCA inputs at the same time. This may cause damage to your amplifier(s) Thanks for reading. A full review with pics will be coming as soon as its ready. It may be a while... I know I dropped the ball on the XPA-5 review, and I felt bad about it, but it seemed like a ton of stuff suddenly popped up and then I decided to get the XPA-1s...so the XPA-5 is actually unhooked until I get a proper receiver or pre/pro.

I also have a RSP-1 that I use for 2 channel music hooked into the same amp using XLR connectors. Is that bad? ;D

If you accidently fed signals from both "pre-amps" at the same time you could damage your gear; and, even if you didn't cause any damage you would not like what you would hear. There are better ways to accomplish what you want. Does the RSP-1 have a HT Bypass switch? I seem to remember thinking that it does, and if so why don't you utilize it?

I don't think it does have one. I'm very very careful to make sure that I never have both processors on at the same time.

Well it looks like I won't be connecting my XDA-1 via XLR and UMC-1 via RCA to my XPA-2 now.
I will have to connect the XDA-1 to UMC-1 to XPA-2.
Bring on the XMC-1!
Dave.
PS... I will try the XDA-1 to XPA-2 to compare the SQ.

If I connect the FBI to the CIA,and bypass those through the NSA synced with the NRO,and splice those inputs into FEMA control module, what I should have is a very streamlined, and exceptionally functioning machine (LAPTOP/PC) to make sure all nodes (humans) in my system(home) are all functioning (behaving) as they should? Just curious

You forgot to "filter" things thru CSI and KGB. Once you have added them to the signal path you should have all your bases covered. ;D
