I am going to use my UPA-5 to power my LCR speakers and also power my bookshelves in my bedroom. it will be rare that all 5 speakers will be on at the same time so i am curious if the my LCR (when watching movies) & LR will have more headroom due to the unused channels. if so are they splitting the total unused or only a percentage. sorry if this is a dumb question and/or if this topic has been covered already
Thanks
jay

no love for Bob Ross i guess
to rephrase, would i get more power to my fronts from using just 2 channels of a UPA-5 vs having a UPA-2 power my fronts?

The quick answer to your question is yes...the UPA-5 has a larger power supply and it's shared among all 5 channels. When less than 5 channels are in use, the entire power supply output is available for the channels that are in use.
