pay bills. ;D Either way, I would be very happy.
Pros: sale prices, 2 channel dream system, future proof amps, possible jaw dropping and drool worthy sound.
Cons: less money for bills

Hahaha, Personally I'd buy the amps and work some more to pay the bills. It's kind of what I've been doing, working 6 day weeks the last few months to put money towards stuff I want and buy christmas stuff too.

decisions, decisions... ranking the ultility of the options for spending your hard earned money is always a struggle. When allocating funds for your HT system just make sure you are spending discretionary money. ;D

If I were in your shoes and didn't think too rationally, then of course it's off to the races with the audio equipment!!! ;D
However, my goal is always to be debt free in these crazy times whenever possible. So if paying the bills gets me there, then that's what I do. I can then save enough cash to buy the equipment...

With that freedom now, I've got plenty of money for toys, and can enjoy them knowing I'm not leveraged to the gills.

+2 This audio and HT equipment is just like owning a Harley, they are affordable toys, when debt starts to rise are they first to go. Being debt free is a great feeling and staying that way will get you where you want to go in life.

Pay the bills first. Buy toys 2nd with disposable income. Smartest thing to do.

Although paying bills is the responsible thing to do there are times when a compromise is acceptable. My case may be different but I just received a bonus check from work. Most will go towards paying off debt (close to paying off car) but I'm leaving myself $600 for 2 UPA-1s. To me this is a win-win.

Buy Emo gear that are on sale. These are "while supplies last". I'll guarantee you that the supply of bills will always last.

I would evaluate the situation like this. Are any of these bills past due? Are any of these bills for utilities or food? Will the well being of a person be affected by these bills? Will putting off these bills have an adverse affect on your credit? If the answer to any of these questions is YES, then pay the bills without question. I had outstanding debt for a long time. Then I saved up a bunch of money, bit the bullet, and paid off every last bill I owed. Including old medical bills from many years ago, when I didn't know about, or understand, the importance of establishing/retaining good credit. I will tell you from first hand experience that this was the BEST financial move I have ever made. I have repaired my credit (got those XPA-1s to show for it) and earned the respect of my GF and her parents (my future in laws one day). Trust me, you will thank yourself later for taking care of business today. ;D

nope, no past due. great credit. And not for basic necessities. But they can go towards my loans.
$2700 is pure profit from recent investments.
Okay, thank-you everybody for the input. I guess debt free is what I want the most.
Next christmas, XPA-1 here I come!!!!!

I figure that if you have any thoughts at all about it affecting you financially, then don't do it. I only buy new gear when I can click the "buy now" button without thinking twice about it. This way has really affected my system's performance at times lol, but I always feel better about it afterwards.

You only live once... I'd personally buy a very nice pair of speakers but if I have those already, then a nice sub 2nd and if I have that already then 2 XPA-1s.
