The new Home Theater magazine just put the DHC-80.3 and DTA-70.1 on their test bench section. They rated them both very highly as well.

Chuckie, the DTA-70.1 is rated at 150 watts into 8 Ohms with two channels driven simultaneously. * Into 4 Ohms, it is 'roughly' rated to deliver 225 watts also with two channels driven (0.05% THD). -> But in actual reality it delivers 266.7 watts (4 Ohm), two channels driven, and at 1% THD. *** Remember this though; it is a 9-channel power amp, and Onkyo is probably using some type of protective circuit so their amp won't get into trouble. Nowadays you can't compare anymore a 5 or 7-channel amp with a 9-channel amp. It just don't work, as there are new methods employed with those extra amplified channels. Still it is a good multichannel amp, and to have 9 Emo amps; well you can calculate... {Three XPA-3s? $300 more. A 'bit' more power. And a whole lot more shelf space.} * And by the way, you can take 20% off easily from that $1,800 MSRP.
