Thanks for the pics of the back of the XMC.
I note that there is a USB input (marked 'update') and a separate ethernet connection next to it. I wonder what the update process will require...

The UMC-2 looks friggin sweet! That's the look that I think Emo needs to change to throughout the whole lineup. The XPR-5 looks amazing as well! Both of them look so much more modern and, dare I say it...more expensive looking.

That pre/pro, it is mising a second HDMI output! Bob, I'm wondering if that is an old prototype as I don't see any phono input on the rear? I am hoping early prototype too on the XMC anyway. I had a note earlier into Emotiva on having a USB input to support Internet radio to take advantage of the DAC and not having to layer separates. Emo is open to it but waiting on the chip they want to use to be able to support it.

Is the mic jack on the front of the XMC-1 an EmoQ jack?
Will the two sub outs have independent EQ?
Cheers, Dave.

Is the mic jack on the front of the XMC-1 an EmoQ jack? Looks like it must be - there doesn't look to be a mic input on the back.

That pre/pro, it is mising a second HDMI output! Exactly, that and a couple of other things mean I will pass and wait for something else.

with both a front projector and a flat panel HDTV. Because if it is what it is now, Emotiva is simply closing the door to those potential customers that I just described. Agreed, I want to be able to connect a very small screen ((probably a small 1080p, 24" or less which are pretty cheap now) to my next processor so I can navigate for music, etc. without firing up the projector.

It's also very strange the "update" port is a type B, so it would make the XMC-1 still a slave device like the UMC-1, so if the internet update was not doable (no internet) you would still be looking at hooking up a computer instead of just using a USB flash or hard disk or whatever which would be much easier.

I agree with you Bob. The pics are abviously not the final layout of the XMC-1 because there is no phono input on the rear panel. The HDMI on the front is most likely another input for game consoles, laptops, etc. I also believed that in one of the recent podcast, Dan mentioned that the XMC-1 would have 2 HDMI outs.

Wow, great pics of the equipment. Would someone please confirm one way or the other if the XMC will have 2 HDMI outs and a USB port for flash drives to update.

George, you're up too early. . . you must have not had enough to drink last night. Oh I had enough alright. Nothing a couple aspirin and a cup of coffee couldn't help though. Now David had more than enough. I wonder how he's doing....

Chuck - on the phono input, I am assuming that one of the RCA stereo inputs would be used for LP's and that there's no built-in head amp for a low output moving coil. (They had indicated this wsa their likely plan a while bcak - looks like they are sticking to it.) If that's the case, I'd have to drag out one of my old ones to use...unless Emo makes one of their own, which I would hope they would. If they did and I liked the 2-channel enough from the XMC, I might get rid of my USP-1 after I get an XMC.
I do like the XMC's back panel...particularly how the lines out are arranged in the order they are & that there's a clear white/red indicator that's pretty large. That will make any cable swapping a lot easier for the times one is reaching around from the front to get to a cable/input.
Others there...any word yet on XMC-1 pricing? The FW update process? And any better hints at timing on it and the XSP-1?
