So all, I need your input and advise. Im looking for an easy to use whatever it is to play all my mp3's on my laptop on my home system..... I dont want to use a cable connecting my laptop to my system. What are my options? Is there something that would be able to connect to my wireless network and find my music that also has an on screen display to show my music and a remote? I know I could get the xda1 but like I said I really want no wires. I have heard of a sonos or something like that. Is that what Im looking for or is there something better. Thanks in advance from you all. Also. My router has no ports left open so if whatever you suggest needs ethernet connection. would I need another gateway or whatever they are called? sorry im not too savy on computer things.

This is something that I've put a couple brain cells to lately and would also like to hear what options there are. I think that there is a way with my Oppo to hook it up on my home network and connect wirelessly to other computers on the tree to stream content from them. I'm not sure and I've been too busy to seriously work on it.

Yes, the Oppo 93 and 95 will stream music wirelessly (or wired) from your computer to your system. The older 83 can also stream, but it isn't as solid as the newer models.
All you need is a DLNA server such as dbPowerAmp's UPnP (this isn't a dedicated server/machine, just software). Pretty easy to install and set up. I think MediaMonkey and Foobar will also work for this purpose.
The Oppos will play FLAC and several other formats (but not Apple) and come with a wireless dongle, so set-up is fairly painless.
Once set up, it works great. If you have a lot of files, the navigation is a bit clunky, but the sound is excellent and well worth the effort.

I've got sharing set up using Windows 7 and my Oppo. I agree: navigation is a pain, but not too bad for music. I'll have to give the others a try as well (sometime).

OK so squeezeox or maybe sonos or The Oppo.....
I want it to be remote controlled which Im sure all 3 are. But what about an on screen menu per my TV? That is also something I want. Not just a little 5" screen.
Is the oppo the only way that will give me a on screen on my tv?
Im just really thinking of future use. Im not sure why Im worried about it right now because my elite lets me hook up an ipod, iphone, or flash drives with my mp3s on it and has a menu on screen. Maybe I should just stick with what I have. I think I just have upgradeitis. And also the elite menu is easy to navigate and not sluggish at all. My complaint is it wont read over an 8gb flash drive so I have many drives and have to switch them out and remember which ones have the music im seeking.

Other than the navigation being a little clunky, but more than usable the Oppo did it all for me at no additional cost. The only constraint that I found today going through the Libraries on my laptop was the lag time to load all the information in through the network. So, a faster router may make it quicker or it could be a processing lag of the Oppo.
I believe the Oppo also lets you attach external storage via USB drive (likely only 2.0). What you choose to put on that drive (from music to ISO files from a BD/DVD) is up to you.
More and more I find more versatility with the Oppo than just a multi-disc player.
