Hi! I currently I have a Klipsch Sub12... Around the time I decided this sub woofer just wasn't going to cut it, I also learned about the sub crawl.
Soon I have a sub woofer weighing approx 215 lbs headed my way. Right now it's just me n the wife around and there probably wont be a lot of place testing for this sub.
If I did the sub crawl for the Klipsch, and found the best place, would this, in turn, most likely be the place for my new sub woofer also?
I understand all drivers and whatnot are different, and it is probably wishful thinking...
Just don't feel like dropping the subwoofer down on my nice sofa and trying to lift it off again.
Thanks!

Within the limitations of your current sub it should be fine. The limitation will be how low your current sub will go.
Dave.

Get a pre/pro with TacT RCS. It is speaker/sub placement invariant. Put your sub(s) where is most convenient and run TacT and it is "all she wrote" ;D

The answer to your question is most likely "yes."

Hello Mrsinister; Just a question out of curiosity what sub did you upgrade too? I recently upgraded from the Klipsch sub 12 as well, I ended up with the svs pb12nsd and am still smiling ear to ear when I watch a movie like Tron. 215 pounds seems like something that could rip the house away from your foundation

www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=2_138&products_id=891Its sealed, so hopefully no blowing out of walls... but yes, I expect there will be a difference! ;D I also have been running transducers (auro pro) for about a year now. I am not sure if even that subwoofer can replicate the effects that these have. I reccomend anyone with $100 bucks and a couch to mount them to to get them.

And... after three weeks of waiting. Barely a difference in output. Of course, I have not worked placement, nor have I used an SPL meter... but wow, expected at least a bit of difference.
I have to crank the sub knob to max and set the sub level on the recieved to 0.0 to even hear anything. The drivers, you can see em' moving, but no impact. le sigh.

Room gain alone should net you a couple dBs. Double check your crossover and speaker settings. Set speakers to small and crossover at 80.

It took a quick two steps to get the effects I wanted.
I started by moving/hooking up the Sub12 to the far back corner of the room (very long room).
I flipped the phase.
WOW... flipping that little knob to 180, "all she wrote", huge change.
Couch shaking change.
I still plan on playing with it in the corners to test it out. This this is ridiculous to move.
I have a hard time setting my towers to small because they dig pretty low themselves.

I set mine on a towel and pulled it around just an idea for you , now I took the rubber feet off and I just slide it but I have carpet .

I have a hard time setting my towers to small because they dig pretty low themselves. Great to hear. Nothing more satisfying than room shaking bass I was only suggesting the towers to small as a troubleshooting step, as that would guarantee you were getting a "hot" signal to the sub. I had a receiver that no matter what i did, it wasn't outputting a significant signal to the sub and thus limited bass output. Changing to a different model receiver made a world of difference. I'd thought it was defective, but tried a different sub on a different same model receiver in the store, and the results were the same.
