Dan, I would love to see a budget amp. Say 100 X 7. Seriously...! Here is my reasoning. I have an older Denon 3805 that I am going to sell on e-bay soon. I am considering replacing the Denon, which currently resides in my theater with the UMC-1. Then, once the XMC-1 becomes available, I'll move the UMC-1 to the living room and put the XMC-1 in the theater. So I'm going to need a budget amp of some sort to pair with the UMC-1 once the XMC-1 arrives. I bet there are a lot of people who are in my shoes with the arrival of the XMC-1 in the fairly near future. The UPA-7 rated at 125 wpc did not sell well, and did not give the impression of much of a Receiver power upgrade. As a result, it did not meet its sales projection and had to be discontinued. What makes you think that a lesser powered (100 wpc) 7 channel amp will do any better Or, is it that you believe that Emotiva is going to build a 7 channel x 100 wpc amp just for you ;D

I consider myself a music/theater lover and I'm not particularly budget constrained....but I don't think I'd spend the time/energy/$$$ to have multiple theater systems in my home. For something like bedroom or garage use, I think I'd "slum it" and grab some sort of 2 channel or perhaps 2.1 system and call it a day. But perhaps I'm just not seeing the light... Best, Well, if he's Suffolk County, L.I. then that's the "South Shore". Their dog houses have 11.2. ;D LMAO... Well I can assure you that I DON'T live in Suffolk County.

Simple as that... One of my big dilemma’s holding me off from initially purchasing the UMC-1 is when I ultimately replace the UMC-1 with the soon to be released XMC-1, I need to come up with a budget amp. A budget 100 X 7 amp for about $500 would be just what I need. I’d be really surprised if others were not in my same exact shoes.

You know that 112 is the street number of a very (in)famous house in one of the townships of Suffolk County, Long Island? And here I was getting my hopes up.

112 Ocean Ave. Amityville, N.Y. I have not been to Long Island in about 25 years. I used to run the loan department of the Dollar Drydock Savings bank in Jericho, LI. It was a *bleep* driving from the Bronx in the mornings and even worse driving back from Jericho in the pm. But I was a young buck back then and took it in stride. I still visit my wife's aunt in Kingspoint when ever I happen to go to NY. I wouldn't live there again but I still love NY. Next post I will get back on topic ;D

I'd love to visit the community and the area. I did a lot of research (that I didn't get credit for) about 12 years ago and would actually like to see the area that I did so much research on.

Next post I will get back on topic ;D I looked at some houses last year out in Huntington and decided that I can't/won't deal with all the traffic to get on/off the island, especially during the summer. It's brutal. You also get whacked with tolls every time you want to enter/exit LI and mugged with pretty high property taxes. Imagine paying $20k/year for the privilege of having a home in Huntington. I still chuckle about it. But back on topic...seems like Emo is going to scratch the 7 channel itch with an X series 7x200W unit. Best,

A 7 channel amp (say 7 x 200) would be nice for bi-amping a 5.1 HT system. But what I'd REALLY like to see would be a more powerful 3-channel Emotiva amp, like a 3 x 300w - call it the "XPA-3a" or something? Attachments:

Look for the XPR-3 coming soon. I'd hoped for that too, but the teaser posting for the upcoming XPR series only indicates an XPR-1, 2 & 5 (so far). If the XPR-5 is something like 5 x 300w, or even 5 x 250w I'd probably jump on that. A 3 channel XPR amp would be very nice though...
