I knew that I should have added an emoticon. ;D Don't worry about it too much. I'm usually on my phone so don't use emoticons either. Dave.

Nice podcast. I can't wait. Great news. Hey Big Dan be careful with customs coming back from the Dam. Remember, it's only "tolerated" here.

^ 'Fletcher-Munson' curves. Tact system is based on 1 reference target curve and 8 additional target curves called “dynamic target curves”. The reference target curve is used to perform basic reference room correction. Dynamic target curves are labeled 0, -6, -12, -18, -24, -30, -36 and –42 dB and are combined with the reference target curve to obtain the final “dynamic” target curve used to calculate corrected room filters in real time.
The final target curve that is then used to calculate the correction filters. New correction filters are loaded into the signal path as the music is playing and the new correction takes effect immediately. The same process repeats again for any new master level setting.

From the looks of it, Tact is a room correction package that even I would use. ;D Anyone who has ever paid attention to my feeling about all the Magic Button room correction products knows I would rather be tortured than to use one of them. Well, almost... I have always been able to manually set up my system to sound better than the "magic buttons" and I loved the EmoQ tool because it allowed me to easily tweak my system to obtain just the sound I like. Tact's software appears to offer to best of the Auto set-up and the best of manual set-up. Tact might just make me a convert. I agree with Chuckie that this pre/pro could well be the Product of the Year. This is a giant step up for Emotiva. Once word gets out they will have trouble producing enough units to keep up with demand.

Ah - this is just great news - sounds like it's gonna be a peach. Quick question - the network audio streaming - any more news on how this will work - will it be DLNA?
Now - just gotta wait for 5 months - tricky, tricky. When's that new pre-order list gonna be around, for those of us that joined the club just too late for join the old one....

Hemster/RR/LOTR/anybody: I believe that in the podcast Dan sort of mentioned that the user has the option of doing auto calibration or manual. Or that you can manually tweak the auto calibration. Which was it? I'm going to listen to the podcast again. But I want to make sure that I have the correct information. Thanks

Pity only one set of balanced ins and also no balanced for a 2nd zone - especially when you have options for lan based remote. And this phono thing.... I guess shorter phono cable runs might be good but would rather have it all in one package.

^Yep, the TACT system is very special indeed. From a first glance at their web site the reviews and news all seem about 4-5 years old... even the site copyright is only dated 2008 Even the latest update for their theatre processor (TCS Mk. II Theater Correction System) is dated 2004 ... I really do hope this cure to EMO-Q is not worse than the disease. Even their site is having issues ... www.tactlab.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on 11/08/11 01:48 . The current time is 28/01/12 19:51 . (Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate)

my suggestion to have something in reserve compatible with the new hardware being used...

It would seem to me that they don't exist as a company any longer. But like Audyssey, they are licensing out their technology to selected manufacturers. I'll go back and listen to the podcast, but 'I think' Dan mentioned a relationship with a person associated with the technology. Not a company to company business relationship. Let us get the facts before we start throwing doubt and confusion out there.

can anyone clarify to me the situation for people with upgrades vs people on pre order list, i thought i heard Dan mention that upgrade people would be taken care of just like ones on the closed pre order list.
