Just received my UMC-200 yesterday and everything works great except for my first gen PS3. The HDMI connection will not stay connected and continuously drops out. I'm using all four inputs (including the PS3) which include an ATV2, XBOX 360 and FIOS DVR and they seem to have no issues maintaining the connection. I have reset the PS3 to factory settings and I couldn't even get through the initial setup with the PS3 connected to the UMC-200. When I connect the PS3 directly to my TV it is 100% stable with no issues.
Would like to know if anyone else is having similar issues and if there are any resolutions available. Thanks

Did you try the PS3 on a different HDMI input, also tried a different cable?

Just curious. What is the setting for deep color, on or off?

Just curious. What is the setting for deep color, on or off? Since there are no commercially released consumer based media which utilizes "deep color", you may as well turn it off.

I don't have a PS3. But I hope to find out how the OP has his set, and if it makes any difference to his stability problem.

I'm having a ton of connectivity issues with my UMC-200 too; I did plug in PS3 in a different HDMI and its working now; my Directv doesn't connect well either; I've been trouble shooting all afternoon and am beside myself... my UMC-1 is dead in my theater too... horrible timing, family here. I did have some luck when I power down and power back up.

Just curious. What is the setting for deep color, on or off? It's whatever the default setting is since I reset my PS3 back to factory settings attempting to troubleshoot the issue. FWIW I believe the factory setting is off. Did you try the PS3 on a different HDMI input, also tried a different cable? No and no. The cable is fine, it worked perfectly on my old receiver. I might try another input, but I'd like to hear from other owners before I attempt to.

Someone said it is easy: >>[Deep Color Output (HDMI)] is an option under Settings > [Display Settings]. When your system is connected via an HDMI cable, you can set whether to output video using the Deep Color signal by selecting [Automatic] or [Off]. Automatic: Enable video output using the Deep Color signal if your TV supports this signal. Off: Disable video output using the Deep Color signal.<<

It is under settings-video settings-deep color. The default setting is automatic and the only other choice is off. This is on a fat style PS3. I have my PS3 hooked to the HDMI3 input on my UMC-200. Watched a standard DVD no problems and that was with deep color at automatic.

I'll be contacting Emotiva support today. Sleepjeep confirmed that deep color is on (automatic) after resetting the PS3. Did you try turning it off?

Deep color was turned on. As soon as I turned it off, all issues went away and I have a 100% normal connection. I will call Emotiva back tomorrow to let them know about this. Hopefully they can post it in a FAQ or fix the incompatibility in a software update. Thanks everyone for your help!

@ Spectacle Yes, when you start the PS3 up, the video keeps going in/out, and it makes a popping sound, i called Emotiva today, and he said to turn off deep color, i said i tried that but it didnt work, so he said try to reset the UMC-200, i did that yesterday, and i will try tonight when i get home, to see if that worked.

Yes, i tried to turn it off and on again, i just got in the Redmere HDMi cables and i have the same problem, i pluged then into every HDMi input on the UMC-200 and that didnt help, Emotiva is sending me a new one, so i hope that one works correctly, so nobody is having this problem?.

Two considerations...
First, how long is the HDMI cable run between your display and the UMC-200? Have you swapped that one out?
Lastly, have you tried turning the UMC-200 off at the main power switch on the back of the unit? The new HDMI board will continue to receive power even while in standby. Try switching it off for a few minutes to force new handshakes at all levels.
