Wow, $9500 and no room correction. Sorry, Bryston, but you blew it on this one...

Bryston makes nice stuff, but it costs a bunch. I had read there were a few bugs in the new SP3. IMO, Money would better spent on the new $3500 Marantz prepro versus the $9K+ Bryston.

You have be out of yer mind to drop 9 large on a pre-pro. This technology changes so fast that your "investment" wouldn't be worth 3k a year later. No thanks. If Emo ever delivers their XMC-1 they are gonna mop up the floor with likes of Bryston, Classe, Krell, etc...

A nice review (Home Theater Magazine always does a great job!), and Bryston is known to be terrific equipment! However, the price tag is grossly unreasonable...no room EQ software?,...only 120w/channel x 5? Nope, sorry. Not gonna fly,...

The review says: "Bryston is the only amp manufacturer that gives you a 20-year transferrable warranty on its analog components like the 9B SST². That’s confidence that speaks of quality."
Well, it speaks either of quality or of their profit margin.

Make no mistake, Bryston is *very* good gear. And their amp warranty is the best in the biz. But they are decidedly a "boutique" brand that caters to folks with money to burn. It is quite possible to replicate or even supass Bryston's quality with much lesser-priced equipment. And, frankly, Bryston isn't risking much by providing a 20-year warranty on their amps. Most of the amps that I have owned (H/K, Acurus, Denon, NAD, and Butler) could probably make the 20-year mark and not need any repairs.
The fact that Emo provides the same 5-year warranty on their pre-pros as does Bryston really is a feather in Emo's cap. When an Emo preo-pro requires factory fixes, it pretty much wipes out Emo's profit on that piece. Bryston has a LOT more cushion to work with. Emo is to be commended for putting it on the line like that - bravo!!

Bryston's 20 year warranty is only on analog gear (amps mostly). The digital stuff is 5 years, and less for things with moving parts. I have a Bryston dgiital USB player. It is well made and well designed. Regular firmware upgrades to improve the product's performance are issued from time to time.

Work $18K... I bet the remote costs $1500. =D The processor is MSRP $9,500 $9,500, the SP3 is one of the more expensive processors you can buy, so come expecting a lot, at least sonically. But, as with other high-end processors from the likes of Classé and Cary, The 9B Amp is the other $8,500 And they both come with a 20 year transferrable warranty.
