I'm new to everything here.
I just recently purchased a new avr, to connect easily to my TV and game system. Even though I love the clarity of it , I missed the punch my 25 yr. receiver. After reading a few messages at the Marantz owner's board I kept seeing Emotiva being mentioned as a complimentary power source. Reading through some of the posts here and subsequently following to independent product reviews, I jumped in a purchased the Xpa3.
I am in awe of what my speakers now produce, and now think its time for me to upgrade more of my system. I wish I had paid more attention to the posts that got me here to thank those posters who got me to get in the game.

Similar to my story of finding Emotiva... back in 2010 I had just decided to upgrade my Sony ES AVR to the newest version of ES AVR. A friend of mine told me about Emotiva and, after looking at their website, decided to give them an audition. I returned my AVR and bought the XPA-5 to use with my 10 year-old ES AVR (with money left over for the UMC-1). I haven't looked back since!
Welcome to The Lounge!

For Photobucket just click in the area that says "Direct Link." This will copy the info to your clipboard, with the appropriate tags. Just paste in your message where you want the image, and presto. Welcome to the lounge, and here is your image (love those blue lights):

Thanks for the warm welcome. LCSeminole and Cremies this amp has so far exceeded my expectations that I'm bemoaning not getting XPA5 in the first place. ÈlTwo, thanks for that info. @chuckienut thanks for cleaning up that picture should have checked settings on my phone. Having played this for 5 days now, I'm thinking it's about time I give these old speakers a rest. I may try the X refs, any opinions would be appreciated. My listening and veiwing room is 12 X 18 with cathedral ceiling that open up in an Lshape to dinning room of near equal size.

Mostly music with movies or mostly movies with some music. Mostly movies, I would concentrate on maybe adding another sub for that space. If it is mostly music, then the main speakers should take priority. Like the sound of the center? Consider matching the fronts to it.

Too bad for you, you're toast, you should have escaped when you had the chance. Now you're stuck like the rest of us.

I watch a lot of a movies, but my music listening sessions tend to go on for hours at a time. I guess its a fairly even split. My center speaker is my most noticable weakness, (bought it because it was magnetically shielded in the time of CRT television)and why I'm looking to replace everything. Matching the center and fronts is what I'm looking to do. jmasterj, it seems like good company
