Hello Lounge!
I made my first "small" (UMC-1, UPA-500, XRT-6.2) purchase from Emotiva last November. It sounded so good, my wife(!) suggested we replace the gear in the living room as well. (I gotta be one of the luckiest guys around.) After several more visits from the FEDEX man and as evidenced by my signature block below, I have been fully (and happily) assimilated.
I look forward to getting to know my fellow lounge mates better.

Thanks geebo and "Mr. Designs"! Welcome the the Lounge, Mike. Looks like a couple of very nice systems you've put together. What were you replacing? geebo, I'm almost embarrassed to say what I was replacing in the Family Room. I'll preface it by saying I needed a HT system with wireless surround speakers and I didn't have much money to spend on it. The solution I found was a Logitech Z5450 Digital 5.1 Speaker System. It was decent for the money and it had enough analog and digital in's that I didn't need a separate audio switch. The system in the Living Room was just an old Cambridge Soundworks 2.1 system I inheirited that I hooked up to a ZP90. I sold my last "real" stereo system some years ago before moving my family to Germany for a work assignment. I have to say that growing up I was a wanna-be Audiophile. I subsribed to Stereo Review, High Fidelity and Audio magazines for years. It's only taken 30 years or so, but I'm finally able to put together the kind of system I used to only dream about . . . without going broke. Thanks Emotiva.

Hey! Another Tucson guy. Well, I'm in Catalina actually. Beautiful day today. Wow! Hi melm, Yes it was a beautiful day that day and almost every day since. Hope you're still enjoying your Emotiva gear in your home theatre. I know I am. I've also fallen in love with the Oppo BDP-103. I had a near religious experience two weeks ago listening to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon in 5.1 surround off of a SACD disc. I used the Oppo's analog outs to my UMC-1 in Direct mode. All I can say is WOW! I'm hoping I can find some more SACDs that are as well produced as that one. Have a great week! - Mike

Well congratulations on getting your dream realized. You've picked an outstanding company to do business with.

Try the Young Persons Guide to the Orchestra from Reference Recordings. It's a multichannel SACD and even if you don't like symphonic music it is one of the best and most, spectacular recording ever made.
