Greetings all! I've been hanging around for a little bit now, so I figured it was time for a proper introduction. My name is Rob, I hail from Anaheim, just a block away from the happiest place on earth. I'm a computer/network technician, and former musician (Flute and marching/orchestral percussion). After years of listening on old equipment and not being happy with the sound I was getting, I can finally afford some decent audio equipment. After shopping around and being disappointed with what I was able to get in my price range, my best friend turned me on to Emotiva. I took the plunge in January with a USP-1 and UPA-200, and have been loving it ever since. I've definitely got the bug, and have been making all kinds of plans for more equipment. Here's a picture of my current 2-channel setup: My primary listening is 2-channel, but my next purchase will almost certainly be multi-channel for TV and movies.

Hi Rob,
Welcome to the Emotiva world. I am a Fullerton resident that got the Emo bug a couple of years ago. Your setup looks nice. My setup is also a stereo setup, I have a 2.1 system even though I use the UMC-1 as my preamp. I will be happy to help U with advice if needed when you want to expand or upgrade your audio system.

Welcome to the lounge Rob. You have a nice setup. I love my USP-1 & UPA-200. I have a similar 2.0 Setup setup, with an added an XDA-1 and a pair of KEF iQ90, with appleTV for streaming MOG.

Thanks everyone. I'm really liking the vibe here in the lounge, everybody seems very helpful. PoloOle, I might have to hit you up sometime.
Most of my listening is from CDs currently. I'm trying to build my vinyl collection, but that's a slow process. Depending on my mood, I might hook up my computer or stream from my iPhone (using an airport express), but when I'm actively listening, I much prefer vinyl or CD.
I backed the orbit turntable on kickstarter, so that's probably going to be my next addition (as soon as it ships). I've been thinking about a new CD player and DAC eventually, but I want to see what products are coming, or get a great deal on some used stuff.
Anybody in SoCal, feel free to PM, I'm usually up for a few drinks and some good music.

Welcome Rob! I second flamingeye's suggestion to try some 5.1 audio once you upgrade your system to surround. I recently experienced 5.1 audio for the first time with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon on SACD. I was blown away.

I already have the DSotM SACD, and it sounds wonderful, but I haven't had the chance to listen to the 5.1 mix yet, as I only have the stereo setup. I'm looking forward to hearing it on a nice 5.1 setup. It's my favorite album, I have it on vinyl as well.

I just returned from So.Cal. Spent a week in Redlands. Orange county et al during rush hour on the 55/91/10 is insane.
Welcome to the lounge! The vibe gets better the more you visit!

Just picked up an ERC-1 from poidog! The lounge connections are paying off already ;-)
Hooked it up just a bit ago, and playing and album right now.
