I am a recent discoverer of Emotiva products and I really am so glad I found them. My quest in audio started 17 years ago when I was 20 years old and was a broke college kid. I went into our local high-end audio store and listened to a pair of Martin Logans. I thought, "One day..." Well, that day has occurred! ;D I picked up a very nice set of used Martin Logans recently and I wanted separates to go with it. I discovered Emotiva and this forum. I have bought a UPA-200 and a UMC-1 (both used, on this forum) to go with the Logans. I'm enjoying the knowledge shared on the forum, and glad to find a great company like Emotiva. Also glad that they have acquired Carver sound here recently. Very nice news indeed. Good to be here, John

Hey John, I usually have my mains connected to my XPA-5 but recently acquired a UPA-200 to run a pair of outdoor speakers so thought hey might as well connect my mains up to it to try er out and even though it's Emotiva's second lowest amp on the power scale you would not realize it at all. I'm loving how it sounds and can't wait to have it powering the speakers in the back yard....come on summer....lol
Welcome to the lounge Chad

I've been very happy with the UPA 200. Plenty of power for the listening levels I usually am at. I've not heard the system strain or distort. What I have noticed is very open, clear, neutral soundscape. These Logans are 5 ohm, 90 db. So they are probably not the easiest speaker to drive. However the UPA 200 is working like a champ. It barely gets warm. www.martinlogan.com/products/sourceI'm looking forward to the arrival of the USP 1 next week. Right now, I'm doing the pre/pro through my old Denon receiver. Thanks to all for the welcome. Great forum you have here.

Welcome to the lounge. If you are close to Emotiva HQ, you should visit them. I love my UPA-200 and UMC-1 & XDA-1. They drive my Kef IQ90's beautifully.

I'm thinking that a trip to Emofest is in order. When is it held and how does one get invited?

I'm thinking that a trip to Emofest is in order. When is it held and how does one get invited? It's Labor Day weekend. Watch the forum and Emotiva's web site for announcements. There will be plenty of buzz around it. Would love to meet you there!

^ Also curious where in Ky you are located. I'm new here and from the eastern part of the state (Pikeville). My father is to blame for my hifi addiction since he had a ton of pro gear left over from his 70's rock band phase (mini Moog was my crib toy) along with an entire Luxman component setup powering a pair of custom ordered Klipsch Cornwalls. I grew up listening to that setup my entire life until I was old enough to buy my own system at 14 (mowed yards until I was nearly worn out that summer). Now 31 and well into my professional career my collection has taken over my basement and most of the closets that I could talk the wife and daughter out of.
Anyhow, I'm going to give this brand a try per recommendations from fellow Mc users of which I'm getting tired of paying the premium for.
