I now realize this should have been my first post. So a few posts late... here we go
I have been an audiophile since 1976 (at age 9) when my dad brought me shopping for his new hifi system. After hours of shopping and listening in many stores, he settled for: Harmon Kardon 430 twin powered receiver IMF Super compact 3 way transmission line speakers NAD 101 Turntable
I discovered Emotiva after purchasing a UMC-1 about 18 months ago.
Hello everyone, nice to be part of the EMO familly.

Glad you are here! Sounds like your father infected you with the wonderful ailment of audiophilia. I remember my dad built a speaker in the mid 1960s called a Sweet 16. He got the plans from a 1961 Popular Mechanics. I do not remember hearing the thing, but I do remember that dad had a great place for people to come to Latin dance parties. The music would blare from the turntable and speaker and up to 8 couples would be dancing downstairs in our playroom. Good times!
Later dad went radio shack, but I do remember him bringing home and playing a stereo record! Ping pong game, train roaring past, and maybe even some music were included.
I am glad your dad gave you the bug too.
Welcome and enjoy.
Trey
