Is this going to have the World Class MC/MM Phono Stage or has that been Canceled ? Thanks There will be no phono preamp. However, Emotiva is going to be releasing a standalone phono pre for those that need one. During Emofest 2012, Big Dan and Lonnie announced That the XMC-1 will not have a phono stage included, but they will take the phono stage that was designed for inclusion in the XMC-1 and use it in a standalone product, the XPS-1. The XPS-1 will be released in the next few weeks. Emotiva has stated it will be available for shipping in time for Christmas 2013 for $149.00. If it helps you any, Emotiva said the phono stage in the XPS-1 is the same as the one used in their flagship stereo preamp, the Emotiva XSP-1 Preamplifier. It is very compact and is about the size of an Emotiva aluminum remote control. The reason given for removing the phono stage from the XMC-1 was to ensure the lowest possible distortion levels for ALL the subsystems. To keep the phono stage as part of the XMC-1 would have added several hundred dollars to its cost, and it was felt the majority of those purchasing the XMC-1 would not be using a TT or would be using a standalone phono preamp. So they elected to make them separate products to maintain the "flagship" quality level for both while minimizing the cost. Response from Lounge members overwhelmingly supported Emotiva removing the phono stage from the XMC-1 and making the phono preamp a separate product. I have the XSP-1 and can tell you that it has an exceptional phono stage -- one of the best I have ever listened to. Read "Secrets of Home Theater and HiFi" review of the XSP-1 to get an idea of the quality you would be getting. Link shown below. Enjoy your listening. www.hometheaterhifi.com/preamplifiers/preamplifiers-reviews/emotiva-xsp-1-balanced-stereo-preamplifier/page-5-conclusions.html

Anything new on the expected XMC-1 release date? I am guessing not since last I heard Emo was not going to say anything until the units were on their way.

Big Dan was so sure that we would all "fall in love with the XMC-1" once it was released. Maybe that is why he chose Valentines Day for its release. If you believe that one, I have a bridge for sale in NY City -- real cheap. lol In spite of my poor attempt of humor, I think the XMC-1 is going to make you all fall in love with it once you see it in action. I know I fell in love with it at Emofest 2013 when I saw it being put thru its paces.

I thought it sounded great and looked great. I do think the release on V-Day is kinda funny though.

As Jim has already stated above, there has been nothing from Big Dan and Company changing the date that was announced at EmoFest 2013.

I'm wondering where in the reservation line am I should the XMC-1 come out in Feb. How long after the first batch arrives might I expect to wait until I get mine?

I'm wondering where in the reservation line am I should the XMC-1 come out in Feb. How long after the first batch arrives might I expect to wait until I get mine? Perhaps this is a bit to optimistic, but I'm guessing the first batch should cover everyone who is on the pre-order list. Emotiva may have used some fancy 8th grade math story problem and equation to determine the number of XMC-1's needed to cover all the actual sales of the XMC from the pre-order list, and maybe a few more until the second shipment comes to the US. QUESTION 1: Company E has a crazed fan base who have been waiting to buy their already famous widget. A pre-order form has produced a list of 200 names of people waiting to buy Company E's widget. Taking into account fans who have moved on and bought a competitors widget, fans who signed up just for the sake of signing up, and fans who have lost interest after the recent price increase... how many units should Company E's first shipment include to keep their fans happy? (Please show all your work) BONUS QUESTION: If John Smith lives in Iowa and pre-ordered a widget. And Company E is established in Tennessee and ships the widget on Feb 14th. When will the widget be delivered to John Smith and how many times will FedEx drop or kick the widget box during delivery?

Fedex will have dropped ((X+2) 2) x Y, where X is the number of days it takes to get there and Y is the eagerness quotient of which the person waits for the widget with. Bonus points: Other variables to consider are....

During Emofest 2011, Emotiva demonstrated IPad apps for the XMC-1 and said that they would be producing these apps for several of their forthcoming products. The apps were demoed by one of the engineers in his office to a handful of attendees. Based on what I saw then, it looked like Emotiva is serious about offering this technology for customers who own various brands of tablets and smart phones. Maybe Lonnie or Keith will chime in on the current status of these apps.

That would be welcome news, what I remembered hearing was that there were android apps in the works but that iOS would lag behind. I figured it would take a third party to bring a good iOS app to the table.

I'd hope Emotiva would have their beta testers also testing the iOS and Android apps. The apps should be released when the product ships - Emotiva has had a lot of time to get 'er done. iRule device profiles would be a good thing to beta test too.

I know that there are apps already on the market that will control their current gear. Not sure why they would reinvent the wheel.

Will I still be able to fight off intruders with the remote? If the remote doesn't weigh 10 lbs. I'm not buying it.
