Hi Keith and all, I'm new here obviously. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the Stealth DC-1 which I'm interested in getting. My question is with regards to its specs; Were the Freq Response, THD+N, IMD(SMPTE), and S/N Ratio measured at the output of the DAC+Preamp of the DC-1? Or just the DAC itself, meaning the Preamp section was not taken into account?
The numbers are quite impressive if the preamp was part of the measurement.

I believe all the numbers are from bench measurements of the actual dac unit, not just from the dac spec sheet.

I was comparing it to the Parasound Zdac which I'm also intersted in and I was actually surprised how better the DC-1's number are. That's why I had to ask if the measurements included the preamp analog section. I see you have a DC-1, can you describe its sound? And have you had a listen to the Parasound Zdac and how they compare? Thanks. |

Short summary...really darn good. Crystal clear, great soundstage, everything I could want. Here's my comparison to my ERC-2 CD player (which I just sold) and by default my Oppo 105 (which I have previously compared to the ERC-2 and found to be pretty equal to or maybe slightly less preferred vs. the ERC-2). emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/31977/klinemjs-dc-1-review?page=1I have never listened to the Parasound ZDac, so I can't compare that for you.
