Earlier this year, I created the following thread to seek resolution to an issue I discovered with the Enhanced Bass functionality on the UMC-1:
emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/28509/umc-1-enhanced-bass
In response, Emotiva indicated that "since we have confirmed that this isn't working, we will put fixing it it on the list for the next firmware update on the UMC-1", so I was understandably optimistic. However, after no firmware update, and every indication that Emotiva has abandoned UMC-1 customers, my optimism has soured to disappointment in Emotiva.
Emotiva makes great equipment, and I am still a fan, but if Emotiva wants my continued patronage, they need to demonstrate that they understand their customers' expectations. When I buy equipment from Emotiva, I am willing to temporarily overlook relatively minor issues for the promise that these issues will be addressed over time with continued firmware updates. However, Emotiva seems to be breaking that compact, and doesn't seem to have any intention of continuing firmware updates for the UMC-1. Accordingly, the current issues list remains (to the best of my knowledge):

It's as though Emotiva is telling customers, if you want these issues addressed, buy the UMC-200. And what happens when the next processor is released -- will Emotiva then also abandon UMC-200 customers? Emotiva seems to be straying from the roots that made it a great company, and that saddens me.
Nevertheless, no thanks to Emotiva, I have found a workaround to the Enhanced Bass issue!
Send the subwoofer the complete signal:
1) Connect your subwoofer cable to the "left mix" output in the "special purpose output"/"zone 2" area of UMC-1's rear panel.
Activate "zone 2":
2) Turn "zone 2" on.
3) Set the "zone 2" audio source to "sync".
Send the front speakers the complete signal:
4) Set the front speakers to "full".
5) Deactivate the subwoofer.
6) Deactivate "Enhanced Bass".
Lastly:
7) Adjust the crossover on the subwoofer.
This has worked amazingly well for me, and I hope it does for you as well!
Cheers!
