Go for surround and center or upgrade pre/pro?

Hi all,

I was just curious what others might do in my position. I have enough $ to either purchase my surrounds, and center speakers or upgrade my avr.

My system as follows: marantz nr1403, crown xls 1500, triton 2's.

the additional speakers would be goldenear Supersat 3's and goldenear super x center.

if I upgrade the avr or go with a pre/pro I'm not entirely sure but I'm thinking XMC-1 " not sure how long I will be waiting." Or go with Marantz sr7008 and return the crown amp.

The 7008 lists for $1999. Two superstats and a center would be about $1100. Unless you really need 9.2, why not get the 6008 for $1200, return the crown XLS for $400 or so , put that with the $800 you save by not getting the 7008 - and you can get the 6008 and the speakers. And your tritons will be happy with double the watts available. (And if the extra 200-300 is too much, hold off on the center for awhile).
