I have an Onkyo TX-NR818 receiver that I am using for zones 2 &3. Main zone is all Emo gear.
I want to use a Rotel amp for zone 2, as well as a Nanopatch+ to control the volume for zone 2.
I'm not getting any sound with this setup. I have the Onkyo 2nd zone set to "Zone 2 powered- No" which should enable the Rotel amp to power this zone. Here is my current cable hook-up: Rotel amp Input cables to Nanopatch Input. Nanopatch Output to Receiver Line Out Zone 2. It appears from the Nanopatch instructions this is correct.
My thought is to reverse the cables and go with Rotel Input > Nanopatch Output and Nanopatch Input to Receiver Line out? If this is correct I will have to get new cables (or adaptors)due to the Nanopatch connection requirements. I cannot try this different connection path due to the fact that I ordered cables specifically for the current cable hook-up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Always - outputs go to inputs... so you do indeed want to go from the receiver output to the Nanopatch input, and from the Nanopatch output to the amp input. I have an Onkyo TX-NR818 receiver that I am using for zones 2 &3. Main zone is all Emo gear.
