Hey all. I am a newbie to this site but not at all to audio, anyway what is the deal with people hating on Emotiva power amps. I belong to Lansing heritage audio site and I was bragging about my xpa-2 how damm good it sound for a SS amp. I can understand if anyone said I don't like it , ok cool but WOW the crap I hear is unreal. Personally I think their upset because they spent 3500 to 6000 on their power amp more so for bragging right than sound quality. Anyhow I have own quite a few power amps in my days - parasound hca-3500 nakamichi pa-7 rotel rb-1090 Soundcraftsmen ma-5200 carver m-400 Crown and the list goes on. So I can compare all my amps in the past to mMY Emotiva xpa-2 and say remarkable. I find my self hearing things I never heard in the past I really look forward to playing all my CD to hear what I been missing

Your instincts are right to trust your ears and ignore others' bs, IMHO.

That's my best guess...... The XPA-2 is a very hefty amp and when I listened to it, I noticed it was faster than my UPA-2. A nice amp overall.

It is hard for the ego to deal with the reality that is price vs performance.
