I thought March was the last official release date.
I am thinking about a late spring road trip, mid May, any chance I could pop in and pick one up?

I passed by the local Fortune Teller shop and saw a new sign in the window: New Policy: Refunds available except on XMC-1 release date predictions. If the XMC-1 is released before your trip, then yes, you should be able to pick one up. However, if it's not yet released by mid-May, then no, I'm afraid not.

I think when they announced their last missed release date they said they hoped to have it within 6-8 weeks of that release date. So that means by this coming Friday they should announce the next delay.

What me really puzzles is that there is no video shown of a real working unit with DIRAC implemented. I can understand a delay for mass production but at least they could present a demo unit. Heck maybe even a review by Audioholics or by somebody else. I fear there ares still issues with the DIRAC software...
Hopefully Emotiva proves me wrong....

Why don't we talk about the other processors available NOW for purchase? I think that would send the very message we are trying to send here but in a way that won't get threads locked and members banned.

It may just be that they're investing all their resources into getting units built rather than marketing (like Dirac videos) -- or maybe just simply waiting on marketing material. We know Dirac is working because a number of us saw it at Emofest. I predict a marketing blitz once it's shipping. They already have a wait list.... So drumming up lots more interest pre-release could backfire. I'm sure it'll be here soon.

When they started remodeling our dealership the contractor estimated 6-8 months, 1 year later it's ALMOST complete. Being that construction is involved, delays are the norm.

Delay. Forecast=wrong. Hype=yes. If you always do as you always did, you'll always get what you always got=yes. We are all being played=yes. When its ready its ready=marketing. When its released I hope that it doesn't suck= Chance/Hope. Nothing to see here= yes.

There was not an additional Dirac standalone unit. I can't remember how many XMC-1s were being demo'd at Emofest, but I recall seeing at least 2-3. I don't believe that they had any Dirac standalone units (at all) at Emofest -- but I could be wrong. Since Dirac was there, it's possible.

I know you need to run the calibration on a laptop, but I believe that the XMC-1 that was in the "demo theater" (whatever it was called) had Dirac on board, and the XMC-1 that was in another workspace (running non-stop clips) also was running it on board. Am I mistaken? I believe Michael Reiche (?) of Dirac might have been running his Dirac demo off a laptop -- for a demo w/Magnepans that was specifically showing Dirac's performance. Edit: Just re-read your post Geebo. In the theater, I know they were running Dirac (less confident about the lab area). I didn't see any hardware beyond an Oppo, the XMC-1 and the Stealths?

The demo in the listening room with the Maggies was on a laptop. The guys in the lab were doing something with Dirac that I believe may have been on an XMC but I can't be 100% sure. I don't believe Dirac was on the unit in the big surround room where Andrew prepared the surround presentation with all Stealth speakers. I think they manually EQ'd that room.

When Octember comes around, you can play a hot tune, on your very expensive new Jook-a-ma-zoon (the xmc??). I wish you could play it in May or in June, but May is too early and June is too soon.
