The new Tony Bennett/Lady Gaga, Cheek to Cheek album coming out soon should be excellent if it is anything like their previous pairing on his Duets II album. I paid little attention to her until I heard her sing with Tony Bennett. To my surprise she is a very talented jazz vocalist. Tony Bennett is an American Treasure. To be released on 9-23-2014. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheek_to_Cheek_(album)www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MU79IL8?tag=gm-search-20Their duet of The Lady Is A Tramp from his Duets II album.

The Duets II CD is what sold me.
I've had the new CD on order for a month with Amazon!

Thanks for the music clip. I like Lady Gaga, never thought I would have said that after I first saw her. Her showmanship, the costumes, makeup and such, caused me to steer away. After I sat and listened to her music, I was pleasantly surprised by her talent.

A friend gave me an Amazon gift card and I just pre-ordered this album plus the other Tony Bennett Duet series CD's. Many of these songs bring back fond memories!

Against my wishes, I circummed to my 15 y/o daughter who only wanted for her birthday present to go see Lady GaGa in Nashville. I had a preconceived idea about her, and how this concert was going to go, but I was wrong. I must admit that I was more than impressed with her vocals, and musicianship. The solo part of the concert where she just played piano and sung was realy, really good.
I started seeing her in a different light during her interview with Barbara Walters. She was a "straight A" student all through school and came from a good family. She was dressed to the 9's in kinda a business suit attire during that interview that kinda caught me off guard. I believe there is much more to her than what we know. She is a creative, and gifted musician/performer that knows how to market herself in an successful, attention getting way......and, all the way......to the bank I might add! Lol

I've seen Lady GaGa on Ellen a couple of times and I've seen a documentary of how hard she worked to make it in the business. I really like her voice. So when I started seeing the clips from her music collaboration with Tony Bennett during the U.S. Open tennis matches I said to my self she really sounds good with the Jazz format. I told myself if she made a Jazz CD I would buy it. I'm very glad to see this CD is getting released. I plan to get it. If you see her doing an interview you can't help but be impressed. She is intelligent, and articulate. And according to her the clothes and exotic hair is just her way of releasing. I like Miley Cyrus too. I think she has talent as well. There is no denying that.

Thanks for posting that video. I had a low opinion of Lady Gaga based on her previous exploits but she's got real talent. I pre-ordered the CD. I also listened to a sample track from Diana Krall's upcoming CD and have to say Diana sounds positively anemic compared to Tony and Lady Gaga.

Thanks Chuckienut - I ordered the album. She's talented, but what about 88 year old Tony Bennett - amazing!

I've always liked Tony Bennett; I've always liked Lady GaGa. Together, I like them both! I'll be in line for the CD too.
Tony's a predictable quantity - GaGa never is. Her early work is deliberately provocative and whether you like it or not, is also exceptionally well executed. The woman has amazing talent.
So to summarize, in matters of taste, there can be no dispute.

Give Tony credit. At 88 years young he's still out there belting them out. Well maybe not belting them but he tries. Most of his voice is gone now but his work ethic is beyond reproach.

OK, you guys have me interested...going to give Gaga a try. I do love being pleasantly surprised by an artist I'd thought of in a "not so good" light.

Just got notified that this is going to be released on HDTracks this week. Don't know bit rate/depth yet! Available now for $24.98 in the deluxe version. Superhirez has both the regular and deluxe versions at 19.98 and 24.98 respectively. All are 96kHz / 24bit. But no DSD. I wonder if the deluxe version is worth the extra 5 bucks. HDTracksSuper Hi-Rez
