If we have a URL for a website. How can it be entered on an iphone on the google maps/google app? -An actual URL vs a search... The reason I ask is that we create complex maps on google map on PC with a lot of alterations. Then when we click share we get a huge URL. We send it to an email where we can copy it into the iphone where we have google maps. But we can't figure out how to get the URL to open on the google maps app (or the google search app). Any ideas? Right now it just opens in safari so we can't get the turn by turn directions etc.

That'll easily fit on the small form-factor browser on the phone. An added bonus is being able to name the link whatever you want! e.g. http:tinyURL.com/MyScenicRoute or whatever... For example, this particular thread is shortened to tinyurl.com/mne3sdj. Try it!

hemsterInteresting. Well the good news is we use the copy and paste function on the iphone to copy the long url. But maybe the long url is tripping up google maps...
