Does anyone know of a DAC/Network player preamp? Basically what I am looking for is something just like this awesome little Teac NP-H750, without the amp section. Anyone know of anything? www.teac.com/product/np-h750/

Take a look at the Cambridge Audio StreamMagic 6.
Very nice at a reasonable price.

Buy an Oppo BDP-105 and get net capability, network streaming via DNLA, and digital inputs via USB, TOSLINK (optical), HDMI, and SPDIF. Bass-management is included, and you get your choice of (full range) XLR or RCA outputs along with the high/low pass RCAs of the analog outs. The player does CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, and SACD discs, among others. It plays MKV files and any high-bit audio file you can throw at it. New standards for music or surround sound? Oppo usually has a compatibility update before the standards are announced. The DACs in the Oppo sound just as good (to my ears) as stand-alone DACs costing multiple times the price of the Oppo. You also get net-browsing from the Oppo including Pandora, Netflix, YouTube, etc. Want wireless to go with that? Add an Apple Airport Express for $99 and stream anything wirelessly to the Oppo. The digital volume control of the Oppo is 32-bit, so you get far less word-length truncation than you do with 16-bit digital attenuators.
In short, for its price, the Oppo can serve as streamer, preamp, DAC, disc-player, and subwoofer controller. It's a bargain.

The 105 is way more than I need (plus more than I want to spend). Same goes for the CA piece at a grand. This would be for a whole house audio application.
I have work-arounds with stuff I already have. I thought the Teac unit was really cool and a bargain at $399. If there was something similar I didn't know about, I figured someone here would know.
Thx guys.

Boomzilla But the timer for the coffee maker has a notorious flaw and needs a cosec update!! :-)

I do know that a number of companies make streamers (including the Apple TV). I don't know enough about their features & pricing to make a good recommendation, though. Happy hunting!
