Mostly, the only music I buy is Qobuz streaming at 16/44.1. SACDs still interest me. Bought vinyl ELP "Pictures at a Exhibition" for .99 recently. BD audio interest me but I haven't bought any yet.
Incidentally, is there any sound quality difference in the sound portion of BD Video Concert DVDs, vs BD Audio CD's?

This data speaks volumes about how the mainstream could care less about SQ. I have these conversations all the time with millennial's who's iPhones are stuffed full of iTunes as they listen to the little Bluetooth speaker over the mantle. My sister thought (and still thinks) her $2300.00 Acoustimass setup is the "da bomb"..

I won't buy anything that does not come with physical media that I can store away as a backup.

Last thing that I actually purchased was Awolnation Megalithic Symphony on CD because Amazon offered it up for just $4.99.
Physical formats are still my preference with CD being purchased more than anything else basically because of availability and price but vinyl,SACD and DVD-A are all still formats that I will purchase.Digital I just have not really warmed up to yet and I am very hesitant to purchase digital only versions. If something like the Awolnation CD come with a digital version also that's cool though.

Ed that makes me want to cry :-( my family is actually too lazy to turn on the sound system I bought and set up In Their living room so they just turn the volume up on the flat screen TV,... The Denon has a Friggen touch screen remote for gods sakes!!! I just don't get it.
I hope those Snells are still rocking out with those XPR's. We should get together for that stogie we talked about way back when,...

I buy CD's and rip them to NAS for playback (in FLAC format). I have been wanting to buy high-res stuff, but I don't want to just stream (first of all...see my quest to get decent speed ISP!). I prefer to own the albums. And, I just can't find downloads of many albums that I want at higher res than I get via CD.

Havnt started ripping LPs but I do rip CDs to JRiver to play through my Mac Mini. Still messing with this set up, just havnt had time but I'm progressing ,,,,,,,Oh BS, I'm going to reformat at start over,,,,,he,,,,he,,,,

Mostly CD's ripped ALAC to iTunes, maybe 10% to 15% 96/24 from HDTracks. If the iTunes store sold ALAC I'd consider them, but if and when they do it will probably be more expensive than HDTracks and the others.

Something like 95% of my collection is CD format. I have about two dozen high-res (24/48 or better) albums from HD Tracks. The rest is a haphazard collection of SACD, DVD-Audio, and 256+ kbps MP3 from Amazon (for my portable music player). I had hoped to get into vinyl earlier this year, but life threw me a curve ball. Can't justify the expense at this point.

CDs ripped to ALAC mostly. SACDS, DVD-A. Most people I know can't fathom the fact that I still buy CDs. I like to spin the disk and read the liner notes.

Given how many CDs I already own (and how many great ones I have that I hardly ever find time to listen to), probably 90% of what I buy is CDs from Goodwill and the like. Lets me hear different CDs from artists I already have other CDs from, and new artists, and only 99 cents a shot. Cheap fun.

CD's and SACD's, never locally, too expensive, ripped lossless to iTunes. Once every couple of months I generally get 8 to 10 at a time from the U.S. or UK to combine the freight. Always play the CD or SACD when listening to the music, use iTunes only for background music or in the car. I've nearly got an order together for an economic vinyl shipment, the first one this year.
Cheers Gary
