I'd disagree with their tube choice, but the rest is spot on!

To be honest. This is not about best amplifiers in the world but about best USA branded amplifiers. Sometimes USA is being confused with world...

Yep, we have the World Series where only the US and Canada play.. well.. if we let other nations in, they may would win! No... we can't have that! So we just offer their players insane salaries and have them play for our national teams.

Don't forget American Football. They are world champs even though only the U.S. participates.

great to see emotiva in the list. i assume other 'cost-no-object' amps could be included too. maybe pass labs or some of d'agistino's designs should be there but i find the list interesting and informative.....

This is so cool ! With all the good reviews I have been reading about the XMC-1 here and with many of Emotiva products getting reviewed and talked about all over the place, this is just the thing to get Emotiva on a lot of folks radar. We know here about there audio products and I personally want to see Dan and Crew get all the success they deserve in the Audio Video market. Dan is not the only one out there trying to make a difference and make good audio affordable but he is right there at the Top if you ask me. When Emotiva does good I have no doubt that the great products will keep coming and I am looking forward to some new stuff from Emotiva. I always respect the price tag for Emotiva products and even if the price tag goes up with future products I feel confident that they are always a good value and a great products.
Merry Christmas ! Dan and Crew

Hopefully Lonnie will decide to build the double chassis quad differential statement amp. Then, Emotiva may make up 3 spots of 6!!

Even if I was a multi millionaire I would feel embarrassed buying those boulder amplifiers. Why...because you would lose 75% of your money a few weeks after purchase. You might have the best amp but you better have the best source going into the boulder amps or it be like putting pizza cutter tires on a Ferrari!

I wonder how the top of the line $8000 Yamaha amp fares against those boulder amps. I bet for quality speakers you could not tell the difference in sound quality. At these prices it becomes really subjective tastes and how well the amp matches up with your source and speakers. Also I would guess that its more like the 1% of the 1% (.001) oil sheiks who would be willing to spend that kind of dosh on $200,000 mono amps.

You can get 98%+ of the 'Boulder Experience' for about 10% of the money in the form of Pass Amps. Even the 'cost not object' part of the Pass line, the XS300 is 'only' about 60,000+. And for 10% of the Pass cost, you can get a Very Nice complete system with more reasonable gear. And have $$ leftover for room treatments to make is sound even better. At the Boulder level, it is more about bragging rights than being 'better'.
