Just noticed a new speaker - actually there seem to be two of them 1812 & 2112- by Tekton. I have their Pendragons and they are freaking awesome. Wonder how these monsters would compare? Found the frequency range very curious though. www.tektondesign.com/1812.html

I saw that and I was thinking...that came out of left field. WOW! Look at all those drivers. Surprisingly even with that massive bass woofer, it's only rated to 50hz. Hmmm....

They sure look awesome. Anxious to see once they come out what people think.

Looks very interesting, I'd love to hear them one day but that probably won't ever happen due to US only. Cool concept

I have wondered before why such an apparently excellent speaker company offers no frequency response variance range in decibels for their models (they don't even provide speaker weight in their very brief specs). Of course we all know that in room actual response can vary significantly but a decibel range is common and reasonably expected with most quality speaker brands, why not with Tekton?

I'm pretty sure Eric works out of his garage. I did a search for his company and it pulls up a housing development. Maybe he doesn't have the proper equipment to measure his speakers?

Other speakers have measurements, I just don't think he's done it with these new ones as they aren't even released yet and won't be for a few months.

I did speak to Eric today. He mentioned that specific details will come out in course of time and that the final design might look a little different to what is there now. Said it will be ready by May/June time frame. Seems to be pitching this against the very best in the industry. Weight to be over 500lbs !!

When I don't see it specified - I just assume +/- 10db. Easy peasey! But yeah. Meaningless.

I'm going to be the dissenter, I guess. They look a complete and unnecessary mess to me.
I know he gets the multiple tweeters to work really well on the Pendragons, but give me coincident sources any day.
I'm sure 7 of these would make for a hugely dynamic home theatre system though.

How do those speakers sound, in 2.0 driven by XPA-2 Gen-2 ? I was tempted to get a pair of the Lore's, can anybody who owns Tekton's chime in please

They remind me a bit of the old Infinity line array speakers....minus the ribbon tweeters...if they sound as good would be another question.

I would think that they would image better with a single row of midrange drivers in a narrower cabinet.

I currently have the Enzo's and absolutely love them. I've owned Vandersteen 3a's, Magnaplanar 3.7's and Revel Gems in the past and they were all great speakers but I'm enjoying the Enzo's as much, if not more, than any of them. I am going to get the 1812's later this year and from my talks with Eric I gather they will be my "forever" speakers. I'm opting for the DSP model, but will provide my own amplification ( they can be purchased with amps included) with Eric providing a DSP unit that he programs specifically for the speakers. I'd explain all of the intracasies of their drivers, cross overs and DSP processing, but it's way over my head! They will require 4 channels of amplification.....one for each of the tweeter and midrange arrays ( the subs are self powered) and I'm considering Emotiva's XPR-1's or XPA-1's. Any suggestions from those owning either would be appreciated. I'm currently using Proceeds HPA 2 and 3 and love them, but theyre getting up there in age and it's time for new ones. I'll most likely be getting the XMC-1 to replace my Proceed AVP.
