How do those speakers sound, in 2.0 driven by XPA-2 Gen-2 ? I was tempted to get a pair of the Lore's, can anybody who owns Tekton's chime in please One day with the Pendragons and I can say after 10 hours of listening to all sorts of music they are excellent sounding speakers.

I saw that and I was thinking...that came out of left field. WOW! Look at all those drivers. Surprisingly even with that massive bass woofer, it's only rated to 50hz. Hmmm.... I think they are VERY conservative with their specs. Lots of manufacturers will say 40 Hz, but when you look at their graphs, its 40Hz at -5 db or so. I think they have zero tolerance on their specs and if they say 50Hz, it's 50 Hz flat response (-0db).

I also just noticed the 1812's today. I have Seas Pendragons with upgraded caps and love them as well. I have tried them with a PSB Subsonic 6 sub a couple times and always end up deciding that the bass is fine without the sub. The size of the 1812's doesnt concern me, it is about sound quality. I cant wait to here what folks say when Eric Alexander starts shipping these. Have only gone head to head with my older PSB's. I have been thinking about demoing Harbeth HL5's because I have always loved what I call the "British" sound, which to me means neutral. I am pretty sure the Tektons will be close to or even better than Harbeths, which are more than twice the price.

New Enzo XL owner here, and with only 30 hours or so on them, to me they are fantastic! I Can't wait to ad some acoustic panels and curtains. I have had Vandersteen 2c, Klipsch RF7, various VMPS and these whoop them. I'll post pics when I get off my backside and figure out how to do it.

There is something to be said about large drivers being able to move a lot of air. Makes sense if you're trying to emulate timbre accuracy. Quote from the guys at Legacy audio; "Utilizing smaller drivers is like trying to fan yourself with a matchbook." Scott

My friend in Denver just received a pair of the 1812's a month ago or so and he says they are just beyond amazing and he has had some very impressive high end gear so I respect his opinion. Hope to make a trip down to here them at some point.

The speakers themselves and the discussion is all 2 channel listening based - why would this get moved to the Home Theatre forum? Same with the "Recommend speakers for my budget thread" which literally starts out with "I'm going to put together a nice 2 channel audio setup" in the original post. Is the Home Theatre forum really lonely and begging for company?

They are huge standing 54" tall for the towers, about 36" for the sealed center horizontally and he just made me some Pendragon surrounds that are 18"H x 12"W x 8" deep with a single 10" and single tweeter

I wonder how they would compare to my current SVS surrounds sound wise. I will have to consider them though for a better match. Did Eric provide any specs on them as far as sensetivity etc.

I wonder how they would compare to my current SVS surrounds sound wise. I will have to consider them though for a better match. Did Eric provide any specs on them as far as sensetivity etc. He didn't provide any specs and I didn't ask. I figured that my Pendragon Towers and center sounded so good that these would have to sound just as good trusting that Eric knows what he is doing. Maybe this weekend I will take them off the wall and play them 2 channel to see how they sound as a stand alone set-up. I did consider the SVS Surrounds but when I did the math I figured I should just spend the extra money and get matched speakers. Eric will make them anyway you want based on how you want to use them, these were custom made for the space I had available. I needed a shallow speaker so people would be less likely to bump their heads when they walked by the seats. I have zero regrets about my decision and they look cool hanging on the walls of course my wife just shakes her head, lol.

In layman terms a new patented technology has Tekton Design producing loudspeakers that allow for the subtle nuances, upper order harmonics, and subtle details contained within the source to be reproduced and discerned. I think I found the genesis for my Pendragon surrounds, the new Lore Impulse appears to be the floor standing version of what he built me. 10" transducer and single pendragon ring radiator tweeter www.tektondesign.com/impulse.html
