I have an xsp1g2 and upa-2. Today I noticed a channel imbalance where the left is slightly louder than the right. This is screwing up the soundstage and imaging. It's annoying. Thing is is I have a dac, pre and an amp, so I don't know which piece is causing it. Is it possible for fairly new equipment to do this. Any ideas on how I can isolate the problem so that I can get it checked out?

I had the same issue with my UMC1 and USP1. I now have a pre with separate L and R volume controls and what a difference. If I had to guess Id say its the preamp

Found the problem... It's the UPA-2. I disconnected my subs from the Crown XLS2000 and used it as the main amp and the imbalance is gone.
Edit: I never tried using the Crown as the main amp, but it sounds amazing! I think it sounds better than the UPA-2. Sent from my SM-P600 using proboards

I have heard some great things about the Crown amps. I may have to try one

Never mind it was the damn monoprice rca cable. The problem seemed like it was the upa2 because I used the balanced connections when switching to the Crown instead of using the same monoprice rca's that were used with the upa2. I'm glad that I don't have to send it in for repair.
