I just downloaded Tidal for IOS. I gotta say straight out of my iPad to my B&W P7 it sounds fantastic. I am also impressed with the polished user interface for just being launched.

If you order through the app it is more expensive. If you order directly on the website it is 10/20, is what I have recently read.

This was one of the lead stories on Yahoo today. www.yahoo.com/tech/s/numbers-don-t-lie-jay-z-tidal-music-123017137.htmlI was going to try it, but I do not like the US Record companies. They don't pay the musicians anything anyway. I am mostly interested in European bands/sounds. Probably the same worthless record companies, but who knows. Sticking with Pandora for the time being. Gives me background music during my workday, and that is just fine for me. If I want to hear CD quality music, I put on the CD.

Not a surprise, since that sales pitch for Tidal is just bonkers. You can not go against Spotify etc head-on. And particularly not with messaging like that. Higher quality audio is the prime (and pretty much only) differentiator Tidal (Hi-Fi) has going for it. Whether or not there is enough people out there to make money on that is open for discussion. Now, I am simply loving Tidal Hi-fi, over 25M+ titles available at CD quality for $20 a month. I am now on my third week and have probably listened to over $200+ worth of music. I like browsing the catalog in the evening for hours, without any compromise in the audio quality. Very nice. During the day and for background music I have the local 70's, 80's and 90s' FM station on. Sounds surprisingly good, and does not eat data.
