Hi... Who has rack-mounted their XPA-7? At 96 lbs... I'm wondering how my rack will handle that. I have a 7', relay rack used in a corporate data center. It's a solid piece... but I've never asked it to handle a 96lb beast like the XPA-7...!!! Tips? Tricks? Lessons learned? Attachment Deleted

A couple of considerations. Is the rack bolted to the wall? If so you are fine locating the Amp anywhere in the rack. If not bolted to the wall, I would locate nearer the bottom area of the rack to lower the center of gravity. It might not make a difference if this rack is as "heavy" as you say. I just like heavier gear near the bottom. Lighter gear toward the top. You might want to look at some forced air cooling solutions to vent the heat from the XPA-7, and away from the other gear too. Some smart temp monitoring solutions out there. Emotiva used to sell a fan solution awhile back. Don't know if they still have any left. Was part of the Sherbourn catalog at the time. I love 19 inch E.I.A. rack mounting, you can't have a better way of organizing, and managing all of your gear including of course an HTPC, etc. Hope I have been of some help. Nice rack by the way.

The heaviest ones I racked mounted was 2 x HTD DMA 1265 (the old ones) at 80 lbs each on the same rack. Had no issues.

I rack mounted APC Smart-UPS SUA2200RM2U UPS. At 110lbs it's about the same weight as XPA-7, so should be no problem.
Just like vcautokid said, mount it at the bottom, it would make the rack very stable.
