More very nice work Trevor. But, you know you're itching to work on those speakers, right? I know I would be..... Keep the updates coming....this is porn for me until my home theater project makes it to the top of my To Do list! Oh man, I can't wait! I have been wanting to build these speakers for years, I have had the designs drawn up for about 4 years now. I will start smaller scale with the speakers upstairs before I make the mains for the living room. Side note: After a NINE month wait I received half of the TD8s from Acoustic Elegance today. Two out of four arrived today. I hope these speakers are as nice as everyone says because I have had houses built faster than these speakers!

Must be built by aging monks on a small unknown island off the coast of Italy. We pray that they didn't consume too much wine during the build process!

Dust is finally starting to fly. Better late than never . My experience with Acoustic Elegance has been a huge disappointments. I received two of the four TD8Ms back in November as I mentioned. One of them was defective and I had to send it back, I still have not received the repaired speaker. I received another speaker from him that had a damaged cone and measured our of spec compared to the one functional TD8M I have. It has now been almost 14 months since my original order and I am fed up. I have sent an email requesting a refund and will simply move along to some alternative 8s, Not sure what yet but I will get this situation figured out first. Onto more fun stuff. My new office is finally completed (one of the reasons I have had little time to work on this). Now that is behind me, I am getting my office system setup. Here is the gear: Oppo HA-1, XSP-1, XPA-200, and dual XPA-100s I made some DIY amp trigger cables and DIY XLRs. I just realized I didn't take any pictures though. For the speakers, I am building a set of Jeff Bagby's ContinuumsThese are being constructed out of 3/4" Baltic Birch ply. The joints are mitered and I will use some dominoes to add strength to the joints. I ordered the domino jointer (something I have wanted for awhile), and that should be here Wednesday then I can start gluing these up. These will be powered with the XPA-200 I also am building a pair of subwoofers, my own design. They will use dual opposed RSS210HO-8 subwoofers slot ported and tuned to about 27hz. Each of these will be powered by one of the XPA-100s. The design is very similar to the continuums but will have a double thick front and rear baffle for extra strength. These are pretty small, 13" x 13" x 17" outside dimensions. These will be called the Skausmas subwoofers. Skausmas is Lithuanian for "pain." I am a physician specializing in pain management and my wife is Lithuanian so we speak this in our house (so our boys will be bilingual) so this seemed like a fitting name for my office system. All the pieces cut The mitered edges Double thick front and rear baffles with dominoes should make this nice and strong Slot port in the front baffle These will all be sanded, stained, and clear coated for finishing, unless I mess up then I may have to paint them . It's something! After I finish these I will start the front speakers for my living room and try to figure something else out for the center channel midbass.
