I am planning ahead to purchase a pair of Salk Soundscape 10 (maybe 12 if I can find a screaming used deal) next year. I currently have a pair of XPA-1L amps but I am thinking I might want to budget for a pair of XPA-1 or XPR-1 instead as these are hard speakers to drive (Soundscape 10 - 4 ohm nominal, 84dB sensitivity. Alternatively, thoughts on using 4 channels of a Sherbourn 7-350 amp that I already own to bi amp each speaker instead of the bigger monoblocks?
Any thoughts on the possible amp upgrade?

I assume these are bi amp capable right? Bi amp them with XPA-1 L's....or EVEN BETTER buy four XPA-1 gen 2's. This way you will have 120 watts class A per channel. Not to mention 2000 watts per channel at its 4 ohm spec and dual power supplies per channel. Holy moly! The amps now only have to operate within a smaller band too which may ease the strain on them. The XPR-1's appear to switch to the higher rail at about 200 watts accompanied by a slightly increased distortion. The XPA-1 does no such thing. However...I haven't heard either the XPR-1 or the XPA-1 though I have heard the XPA-1 L and the XPR-2. If it was me that's what I would do.
