All,
I'm in the market for a projector in the $300 range. I need zoom and HDMI. I use it in my theater room in my walk out basement (so some indirect daylight during the day) on a 90" screen and I carry it outside a few times a year for outdoor movie nights on a 110" screen. I'm not a videophile by any stretch, and, eventually, I expect that my projector will get dropped, knocked over, or rained on. Any recommendations for something in my price range? (I like my current projector but it has a sticky iris that is becoming a frequent problem--it used to be that a WD-40 treatment would make it work for six months--now it only lasts a few days.
Thanks, siggie

Locally, we have a "computer recycling" facility that refurbishes used electronics & sells them. Our facility frequently has used projectors that fit your needs for <$100. See if your city has a similar facility.
Secondly, watch the local Craigslist. Often the "leading edgers" who want the latest & greatest are selling projectors but a year or two old for pennies on the dollar.
Finally, we also have a "State Auction" website where used equipment from the state government is sold at auction. The high bidder on a particular unit wins. I've seen projectors that meet your criteria go for as little as $50. Check your state government's website & see what the property administration department does with their used equipment.

Thanks, Boom. I checked the Maryland state auction site, and they have a sorry selection of banged up office furniture, CRT TVs, and obsolete cell phones!

Update: I added more WD-40, and the projector worked all weekend.
