Just got an e-mail from the mothership. Special price on Fusion Flex, it is going away!
The Fusion Flex is being closed out! We have VERY limited quantities of the Fusion Flex . It’s $199 and all sales are final. Once they are gone, we are out for good!

I have only one hope and that is that spares are still in supply for repairs...a unit sold today still will have 5 years warranty.
So far so good on umc-1 parts for units I see that still have some warranty left.

Wow.. that was short lived. No kidding eh! I would see a speaker line selling better than more amps like the Flex though, IMO of course which is worth very little

I wonder if the closeout models are the ones made in china. Maybe the tooling on the machines in the usa plant is different enough that the new models will have the "g2" added with little changes . I was thinking this when they made small changes to the xsp and called it a g2 . Didn't seem like flush mount vs through mount for pc board devices is enough for a company to make a change and still keep it in the same line. the machines and tooling here may require these changes . or im way off lol

It's feeling like we should be nearing a Podcast / new amplier line(s) launch.

JLamo, the difference in the 2 XSP models is quite a bit. Going from thru-hole to SMD? A BIG change since most of the parts are either one tech or the other. So you have to REQUALIFY the entire piece and everything that goes in it. That is not a trivial task. I'm certain it required lots of engineering hours AND time in failure analysis / burn in. And don't forget, it is an ALL-NEW board.

Internally as far as the output stage goes this is the same amp as the mini x a100 and the pa2/50 sherbourn with some preamp refinements. Not sure if the mini x is still available either. I have one or two of the above but not a flex. Mini x has no remote, but does have auto power on/off options

Perfect 2nd system or 'remote' gear. The auto on/off is a real good feature. My Parasounds have it, too, and it keeps me from running those pesky 'trigger' cords. Amps shut off maybe 60 seconds after 'no signal'. Nice.

Amps shut off maybe 60 seconds after 'no signal'. Nice. Interesting. My PA 2-50 takes about 8-10 minutes to shut off. I've never timed it but it seems to sit idle for that long. It comes on directly when it senses an audio signal. I agree the auto on/off feature is handy. I have the PA 2-50 in a spot that is a PITA to access or use the remote on it - its in the pantry. It just sits there and does its thing. And since I bought it new it has about 9 years of warranty left. mgbpuff is right! Too many goodbyes and nary a 'hello there - I'm new' ! Oh well - I have all the audio gear I need - and more! I just bought a Grace Digital wireless internet radio for the garage. I'm tired of listening to the handful of AM stations I can get - and many of those are in spanish - I don't understand much of it and the mariacha music is.... well I'll leave that alone! Of all the FM stations around here (not many) it seems NPR comes in best! I can bring the world (the sounds anyways) into my garage now.

My Sherbourn LDS 2/150 have a knob on the front to dial in the amout of time to shut off, they also auto sense ON. Very nice features. They also auto sense input,,,,,A or B,,,,,,nifty I say.

Knuck: I still listen to FM out in my Garage. I have the Tivoli #1 radio which not only has real good sound, but a great tuner section. But since I live in an AWFUL place, mid-way between Orange County AND SanDiego county, and in a hilly region, at THAT, my native reception sucks.
So, I built a FM Dipole of the necessary length, put a 75/300 balun on it and built a SWIVEL so I could rotate for best signal. Reception improved about 300% and now I can get LOTS of good stations. It is in the OVERHEAD in my garage, out of the way. I can rotate it using a stick. I have enough 300ohm twinlead for maybe 2 dozen MORE antennas just like the one I built.
I just HATE going up/down ladders while I do installs of stuff like this.
My Parasound probably has a time delay relay in it. I MIGHT be able to get a variable time delay relay if it is socketed, but I'm content with the choice the designers made. What I WOULD like to change is the level (input) control. It is a cheap potentiometer. I'd like to change it for a precision resistor stepper. Maybe the 100k ohm Gold Point.
