When I owned the Rogue M180's I very much enjoyed them, I don't think you can go too wrong with Rogue I love my Cronus Magnum in my hi-fi.

I probably would have noticed that if I would have been on a desktop. Mobile site hides the signatures. I have been curious about the cronus, was contemplating suggesting one for my dad who owns K-horns. Let us know what you end up going with

The combination of Bob Latino's m125 mono-block tube amplifiers, the GRACE design m920 with TIDAL is SUBLIME! Grace is not only a DAC but a monitoring system that is used in recording studios. GRACE is affordable. gracedesign.com Bob Latino's tube amplifiers are affordable as well and made in the USA. tubes4hifi.com BTW no distortion. I am running my B&W803 diamonds in triode mode..35watts per channel.

I love the Cronus for my stereo setup. It is an end game for me as long as it keeps on working. I have no doubts, just saying. I have never heard the Klipsch Horns so I don't kniw about synergy.
I am tempted by the RP-1 for my TV room, but it is a bit much for that purpose. We'll see... I am thinking that i should do nothing at this point.
Really like the RP-1 in concept... Would like it better if it were Emotiva product under or at $1,000.

This has been my hesitation. The only DAC i have heard that reproduces specifically percussion correctly is the DAC in a $7,000 CD player. That CD player uses a Burr-Brown DAC that is a R2R ( multibit?) Dac.
A $7k cd player is way out of budget. A $1,300 DAC that woukd give me the real percussion sound coukd be obtainable.

I bet that 7K CD player was connected to speakers that were 3x's that amount along with there complimented amplifiers. The point being if you can afford that kind of money and you really, physically hear the difference compared to a DAC that is only a 1/3 of the cost or less then go for it. Money is relative. I myself can never understand spending that kind of money when the return value in sound quality is minimal compared to price, but that's me.
As far as coloration with tube amplifiers compared to solid state I firmly believe that tube amplifiers offer more realistic, lifelike sound, and spatial depth than SS. Who cares about distortion and coloration...leave those terms to the esoteric groupies who in truth cannot physically hear that distortion but only see it on a graph. Coloration is not necessarily a bad thing....either is distortion if you cannot hear it. IMO all amplified music is colored. Unless it's live and un-amplified...ascoutic. Weak speakers are more offensive or distorted more than a valve amplifier.

Actually the system was quite reasonable other than the Cd Player.
The player was a Naim CDX2 possibly with an external power supply. I listened to two different amps on it. Rogue Audio Cronus and Sphinx. The speakers were Dali Mentor Minuet or possibly Totem Mites, heard both there. Lastly the speaker cable was Naim NACA5... So really the only thing stacking the deck in the system was the CD Player. I didn't realize it at the time or i woukd have asked them to put something more reasonable in the chain.
