Check the gas. Oh not a car. The obvious is to make sure your center channel is properly connected to the power amp and to the rear speaker panel. I know it seems obvious.

I will double-check that when I get home, however I don't believe that is the cause. It's very strange, but maybe like a computer, "when it doubt, re-boot", was the answer. I'll know more as time goes by. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Had the same thing happen Sunday, mart were switching from a stereo source to a surround source. I clicked to another in It, then back and all was well. Same device was used for stereo vs surround source, an Apple TV 3rd gen. I Chaulk it up to HDMI glitches.

I also used the suggestion above of turning Dolby Management to "All Off". Question on that, does it "hold" or do you have to turn it off each time you use it? It doesn't hold. It would be useful to have the manual for firmware 3.1 to know what "All Off" does compared to the default option of "DRC Off". Sadly it doesn't exist.

Time to bring this thread back unfortunately. Watching a movie tonight on bluray from the Oppo 103. Center channel went out, silent towards the end of the movie. Checked all connections and they are fine. Turned the XMC-1 off and on from the back switch, no luck. Set the XMC-1 to cycle through test tones and no center sound. Not sure what to do at this point. Should I factory reset? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks. To rule out the center, I moved it to upstairs to my other system. It's the speaker. It looks like a loose connection on one of the inputs, the black one. If I jiggle the connector, the speaker cuts in and out and I am able to get it working if it's jiggled right.
I'll have to unscrew the mounting plate and check it out.
I'm just happy it's not the XMC
