MBL Radiahstahler (without a doubt). I have a hard time explaining the immersion they offer. At $70,000/pair, they are obviously out of reach for most of us.

Vandersteen Model 7's. What ever you are doing, they make you sit down and listen and produce a smile and a wow!!! I think they cost between $60,000 to $70,000.

^Not only there are no wall mount brackets included (gasp!) they also don't come with a carrying pouch.

^I agree completely. MBL Radiahstahler are the pinnacle of speakers. If I had the coin, they would grace my room. Hemster, I got it. We can get 24 people to spend $3000 each. That will get us a pair of MBL Radialstrahler 101E MK.II. We build some strong shipping crates for them and everyone gets one month with them every two years. Sound good ?

Sounds good but make sure we avoid shipping anything to Canada. The shipping back and forth from there will add another $30,000 to the cost.

Hemster, jlafrenz and myself were at an Axpona show a few years back and had the privilege of spending a bit of time listening to these. Absolutely, what I would consider to be, the most accurate and precise sounding speaker I've heard. Like Hemster, if I had the money, these would easily be in my yet to be lived in new home!!

Sounds great, but only for a month every 2 years! MBL are not exactly budget speakers (at least not most people's budget) but they manage to find enough customers to not only survive but thrive. Now, if the op had said "most realistic sounding speakers you've heard that are affordable by most people" then I'd have a different suggestion.

1. Magico Q5 driven by Soulution integrated amp and Soulution cd player 2. Magnepan 20.1 driven by Burmester amps (active bi-amp) and DCs Vivaldi converter, dematerialized files 3. Tannoy Prestige driven by McIntosh (2*300W I think) and pre+dac, dematerialized files
an mbl system has been reported to mimic a band at a show, the person who told me that really thought "hey nice there's a band playing next door" before popping his head into the room. No first ear experience though.

- Quad ESL. The room was critical - not too small, not too big. And placement was critical. There were limitations in treble and bass, but oh, the midrange!
- stacked Quad ESL. Ditto.
- Genesis IM-8300 speakers. Placement was critical, too. They had to be off the wall, and no toe-in (absolutely zero). They needed a lot of power - 300W or more. But the soundstage and dynamics were amazing!
- GR Research's LS6 speakers. Made by AV123. That company went out of business. But the LS6 is now available through Angel City Audio (link). The LS9 is supposed to be better but I've not heard it.
By the way, perhaps you can pick up a pre-owned mbl - and may be that means you can have it for a month, every year!

I believe that source affects this more than speakers, but since you asked the most amazing speakers I ever heard were the Dynaudio Evidence. These were the original ones before they changed them to Evidence Master.
