Just recently purchased an XMC-1 and finally got to set it all up this evening.
I get all video, but no sound. I have factory reset twice, shut off/on multiple times, updated firmware to 3.1 before setting up anything. I have made sure all unbalanced connections are secure. Previous Pre/Pro still works.
Any suggestions?

Read through this thread and it should give you a few things to check out. One person said CEC was disabled on the XMC-1 and not on their television so they disabled CEC on their television and cured the problem, a couple of others had a cable come loose during shipping. emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/39293/trouble-xmc-1-sound

Xmc-1 to a nht power 5 via unbalanced.
Went through setup completely.
CEC is disabled on tv and xmc-1.
Haven't opened up the unit. Might have to try that.

Also, my PCM says 0.0 on every hdmi. I have tried different hdmi cables also. Same result, no sound.

Source: cable box and htpc.
Yes I have tried the test tones, I get no sound from them.
Put my old pre/pro in, bam sound, no probs.
I even start something the OSD pops up, A: HDMI 1. PCM 0.0 48khz 24bits

PCM 0.0 48khz 24bits No sound with the built in test tones isn't a good sign. You should be getting something if the outputs are connected properly to the amp. Are you certain you're using the unbalanced outputs and perhaps not the 7.1 unbalanced inputs to connect to the amp? It wouldn't be the first time.

Using the unbalanced outputs. The connections above the xlrs. Swapped in my old pre/pro, sound instantly.
Will have to contact support Monday and send it in more than likely.

I mostly agree with George...but...one last very stupid question. And please don't be offended...just a check. It isn't muted, is it? (Not that it ever happened to me...)
If it is not, hopefully a cable just got loose....but I would call Emotiva for guidance.

Not muted.
I think there is a bad cable inside or something that goes from the hdmi board to the audio output channels.

I opened it up and everything is connected to my knowledge, nothing loose or anything out of order.

Bummer, I was hoping you would have a easy fix.

Try headphones and see what you get I dont think that would work either because the sources say PCM 0.0. If we had some type of signal like, PCM 2.0 or something, I could imagine trying the headphones jack.

Received my PS Audio Dectet yesterday. Put it in place of the Belkin PF60. Hooked everything back up. All components have power, TV has picture, but no sound for TV, BDP, XM radio, etc. Did a cold reboot. Instant sound after the reboot reloaded the firmware. Try the power switch on the back of the unit. It may fix the problem.

Here's the link to the post that you can see a picture with an arrow showing the culprit: emotivalounge.proboards.com/post/679336/threadIn the same thread the OP found also a loose cable inside his XMC-1 : emotivalounge.proboards.com/post/679423/threadIt appears that the shipping carriers are very rough.

I have cold rebooted, loaded firmware 3.0 and 3.1 and then back to 3.0 and then 3.1 again without any changes, still no sound.
I opened the unit and didn't notice any cables loose or disconnected.
Remember, hook up old Pre/Pro, no probs.
