I decided to create a new media rack in the space under the stair landing. I'm pretty proud of the way it came out

2 sheet plywood -$60 lights and other lighting supplies $35 paint - $8 trim-$12 2 rolls of velcro tape- $2 (xmas clearance colors) needed 2x4 for base i built it but its screwed to the adjacent studs as well as the landing studs above it. I'm pretty happy with it. I mainly built it to clear floor space for 2 subs in the front stage

fine job and............there is room for upgrades!!!!! Moving to atmos so I'm going to need another amp and possibly an oppo I wanted to make it bigger, but I measured so there was only 1/2" clearance(for leveling and pluming). I left at least 3" on each shelf to heat and expansion. I was going to make the shelves completely adjustable, but I felt it wouldn't be strong enough that way so I screwed them in. If I need to move them a little, it "should be" easy enough to take it out and adjust them.

That looks fantastic man!! Nice cabinet construction with cool lighting. Your wires look a LOT neater than mine.... Just be sure you get a lot of air flow back there. I designed my cabinet with an open back that is obscured by a black curtain. The equipment stays at a very comfy temperature in there. Scott

Scott I bought 4 120mm fans(2 on the bottom and 2 on top), but I haven't installed them yet. I have to do some wiring to connect them to an old wally wart that I have laying around. Though honestly, the xpa5 on my klipsch runs so cool it's probably not necessary. The funny thing is that adcom that's running my emo uacs runs a lot warmer than the xpa5.

You can always use the top shelf Yeah...it has a fake back on it. One side holds movies and games, the other side has the nexus player and 8 port switch for wired internet.

Really nice work and great cable management. Did you make the speaker cables? I was trying to be meticulous with cables. I still need to get some shorter hdmi flat cables. Speaker cables are all in wall rated from monoprice(nothing special). I might change out the front stage at some point, but the rears and ceiling are probably never going to change. It was a pain to pull them and I'm going to be filling the holes(in the ceiling) shortly...The wife has been on me about it for a few months...lol
