I am having a really bad user experience with Dirac Full on the mac (MacBook Air running El Capitan OS10.11.3). Very few things are more irritating than setting levels on your mic carefully, then position it using the tripod nine times, and then having the software crash right as you were trying to either save the measurements or move on to create filters. That is 90 minutes of my life I will never get back.
I then switched to the Windows version on a Dell laptop and it ran great (after disabling AGC and setting gain to 100%). So although I am a Mac fanboy for most things, IMO Dirac runs like crap on the Mac. By the way - sometimes it runs fine on the Mac, it is temperamental that way.
Anyone else experience this with the Mac?
Thanks

The Mac version is continually complained about for being buggy and unusable. For best results, take all the measurements and then create a save file before continuing to the create filters section. You will have a better chance of not having the program crash and if it does you don't need to redo all the measurements. Hopefully they are working on a fix for this common problem.
I all but gave up on Dirac for the Mac until I discovered this workaround. I just purchased Dirac full but am a little frightened to start the battle with that software on the Mac. I bet I wasted several hours fighting with Dirac LE.

What version are you running? I have 1.1.0 (build 6846) and it's very been stable on my Retina Pro. My only issue was that I originally needed to set the XMC-1 to a static IP as the app sometimes didn't find it.

Luis - are you running EL Capitan OS? Will check what build I have in the Macbook, but at this point I am afraid to use Dirac on the Mac - I fear that "Dirac has unexpectedly quit" message too much. Room Eq Wizard (which runs on java) also works funny on the mac because there is some issue between Apple and the java standard that theyy have yet to solve. So I am reluctantly reverting to Windows for audio stuff (one exception is Fuzzmeasure - that app works great on the Mac and I still use it).

Not sure about the Java version requirement, so I can't comment whats needed, but yes, I'm running El Capitan.

You are running on a slightly newer, faster Mac than mine. Using the same build as you are on Dirac.
Maybe this is destiny's way of telling I have an excuse to buy a new Mac?

That shouldn't be the issue as I also ran Dirac from my older iMac. Try a reboot on the Mac and see if Dirac behaves better for you. There were a couple of other threads here about Dirac and Mac, but I don't recall if all were addressed / fixed. But my original issue (previous Dirac Mac version) was discovery and the only way I was able to get it to work was to set the XMC-1 to static... I never tried setting it back to DHCP to see if discovery continued to work after the updated Dirac build. Now that I think about it... the XMC-1 hung on me a couple of times when Dirac was done updating, so I was forced to use the rear power button to restart it, but other than that, it's been pretty solid for me.

Mine has no issue detecting the XMC-1 ; but it quits easily after the measurements *if* I do anything that deviates from norm - saving the measurements, or trying to mess too much with the target curve, for example.
