Anyone know of some links or good sources for stereo/TV cabinets? My 2ch system has been in a repurposed coffee table for quite awhile. It's nice, but now I want to hide some components. I'd like something that is part exposed and part behind a door or glass (I can frost it). Salamander makes nice stuff, but I may not want to spend that much.
Thanks!

What do you consider inexpensive? Eh, less than $500, including any shipping.

I monitored local craigslist like a hawk. Found an awesome salamander design rack for pennies on the dollar. I saw several rack come up over a couple of months.

Have you considered a DIY? I made mine. It cost about $200 and took a few hours of time, not including time for paint to dry. I started with the standard Flexy idea, details here: www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/flexye.html To dress it up, I glued and nailed two layers of MDF together. Cut them into the right size, rounded corners and routered the edge, so it looks more professional. Then, painted with "Stone" paint in a few light layers. To cover the threaded rod, I bought a chrome shower curtain rod, and fitted it over the rods and nuts. Washers top and bottom prevent it from digging into the wood and paint. And, some round end caps and feet that I found in the Home Depot. I think it came out pretty good. And, if I need more shelves I can expand it. See these pics. They display sideways, but if you click them they are the right way. I don't know why this happens... Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAnother option that gives good results is Ikea Lack tables. You cut the legs to proper length and stack them. Ideas here: www.apartmenttherapy.com/turn-ikea-lack-side-tabes-into-162325 or here: www.ikeahackers.net/2011/12/ikea-lack-audiophile-rack.html
